KichlerCameron 10.75" 1 Light Outdoor Wall Light with Etched Linen Glass in Prairie Rock

Our original entry lights were over 30 years old and showing their age, with many of the candelabra-style light sockets no longer working. We wanted something new, so after driving around neighborhoods to get ideas on lights we decided on these Kichler 9719PR Cameron lights. We really liked the size and styling, which is a cross between traditional and Arts & Crafts. After living with a fixture that took candelabra style bulbs, we knew we wanted something this time that took a standard light bulb. Having the frosted "linen" glass works well to hide the single standard 60 watt equivalent LED bulb we used in each fixture, which gives off a perfect amount of light. The fixtures are made of cast aluminum and feel very sturdy, much more so than the thin brass metal used on most of the less expensive fixtures we saw. The brownish finish is pretty much the same color as shown on the product photos and very attractive. Mounting these fixtures was fairly straight forward. The mounting plate attaches to your existing electrical box and two screws extend out from the plate to pass through the matching holes in the fixture, where they are secured with a threaded ball cap. The only problem I ran into was that my electrical boxes were not completely flush with the brick wall of the house, so the bracket mounting screws stuck out slightly too far. When the threaded ball caps were screwed all the way onto the mounting screw, they were still not up against the fixture. I solved this problem by just sawing off a 1/4 inch or so the the mounting screws with a hacksaw, making them the correct length. After verifying that everything worked, I sealed around the top and sides of the fixture base plate with 100% clear silicone sealant, as per instructions, to keep any water out from behind the fixture. I also installed two matching Kichler 9718PR Cameron lights (slightly smaller than the front entry ones) on each side of our garage door. I changed out the light switches we have controlling our outside lights with WiFi smart switches (Kasa TP-Link brand) to provide automatic control of our outside lights. We really like the end result. A classy look that should last another 30 years.

I replaced an older Kichler wall lantern with this light fixture, so the installation was pretty simple.However, when I went to screw in a light bulb, it somehow caught the threads in the socket wrong. I couldn't screw it in, so I tried to unscrew it. Well, the bulb was wedged in, and I unscrewed the socket from its mounting! It took me a long time to figure out how to get the socket remounted. I thought I was going to have to take the fixture down and take it apart. But, I was able to screw the bulb into the socket and then screw the socket back into its mounting. I just hope the socket doesn't come out again whenever I try to remove the bulb.

These lights are absolutely beautiful on my newly painted house! I've never paid this much for an outside light fixture, but they are well worth every penny. Installation was a bit difficult, however. The mounting plate is round with many different places to attach to the base. And then my hubby (who usually does this type of installation at our house) was so baffled about how to do the install that I did it by myself! Yep, this woman isn't too bad with a power screwdriver and level in-hand!You won't be disappointed in these lights - true quality.

Well made, except for the mounting system. I needed to use a drill and grinder to adapt their plate, which I also think is flimsy. The light itself looks good and casts a nice light - which is what we bought it for.

Three sizes of this style available to meet the needs of our outdoor lighting. Also had a post light available in the same style. Kichler had the best selection of outdoor lighting that we found and were very reasonably priced.The lights we ordered arrived earlier than expected. The Amazon experience was awesome.

Nicely finished, good quality light fixture. "Linen" glass panels distribute light well, providing a softer glow but sufficient lighting for vicinity where mounted. Improved looks of outside of garage.
