So much for the delicate hand modelling photo - coconut meat is far too hard to use this as intended from the image. The images show lovely big swirls of meat, but in an attempt to gouge those, I had to hold the hilt in a reverse grip, and the use full force of both arms to generate enough cutting force to do so.Ultimately, the first of the 2 tools was bent out of shape by the end of the first half coconut and I abandoned it. I show in the image the warping, and the interesting difficulty I hadn't though of which is the fact that there will be hard coconut wedged in the tool which will be a pain in the bum to wash out.I cannot believe it is user error- it's just not a strong enough design. I am very confused by the high star rating which lead me to the purchase.I am leaving it as 2 stars, on the grounds that some people may choose to steam their coconuts and soften the flesh perhaps, and I daresay it might work if so. I needed to deal with raw coconut, for preserving.
