I really like this pen for everyday use at work, it’s great for times when I want to write in ink rather than pencil, but don’t want the message to be distracted by cross-outs & my handwriting glitches. It’s an erasable gel ink that writes smoothly without any leakage/excess ink; of course this is not appropriate for check writing (if you still do that!) and other such legal documents. This pen (red barrel) is an attractive brushed metal, with a pocket clip that slides/clicks up/down to activate the retractable ballpoint mechanism, and with the ink eraser hiding under a twist-off cap on the end. Frixion makes different ballpoint tip sizes, and this pen came with an extra fine .5 mm black ink cartridge. Replacement cartridges are easy to find and if you decide you like the pen, it’s a good idea to pick up replacement cartridges—I use mine frequently, and the ink lasted a fair amount of time before needing replacing. The pen accommodates both the .5mm and .7mm tip sizes, so you’re free to change ink color and tip size as you choose. The pen overall is well made and should last a long time as long as you don’t fiddle with the clip/retractor excessively—the most vulnerable place on most pens—but just be aware if you like to click & bend your pen clips, then this pen is not recommended for you.

I Love the color & pilot pen functions this pen has but I've dropped it a few times & each time has ruined the refill I have in it. The weight of the fall damages the tiny tip & the ink won't flow smoothly anymore. Now I only use it while sitting low to the carpet. Hard floors ruin the tip no matter how high they fall from & they always land so the tip hits first. Otherwise, I'm totally satisfied with this metal pen.

I'm a pen fanatic, so I did a lot of looking before deciding on this particular pen. I am crazy about frixion erasable gel pens and use them constantly at work. This one is awesome! I would caution people that the cap for the eraser is tiny and quite easy to lose. (I lost mine within a week of using the pen, sadly) However, I think since it's clearly shown in the listing that this cap comes off, if you are aware of this and more careful than I was, it should be fine. Fortunately, even with the cap missing, I don't think it's damaged the aesthetic of the pen, and I still love using it. It's more convenient to use without having to unscrew the cap any time I want to use the eraser, anyway. It writes beautifully, the dark red color is great, and the metal barrel is comfortable to hold and feels substantial; not flimsy. I'd happily buy another like it in the future.

I love the Frixion erasable pens. This is the expensive retractable version, but this is high quality metal body construction (compared to the standard and much cheaper all plastic version). My only complaint is that the finger "grip" area is not cushioned/non-slip. I slid a rubber grip over the finger "grip" area above the chrome base, and I am much happier that way (although I would prefer that the pen to now not be as fat). I have already reordered, and own the same pen in other colors. I put red ink in my red body frixion and navy blue (aka blue-black) in my blue metal body Frixion. Remember that if the ink on the paper disappears because of exposure to heat, you usually can put the paper in the freezer to bring back the ink (although probably fainter) - but the problem remains that putting it in the freezer also brings back previously intentionally erased writing. Don't use for checks, contracts, etc.

Great feel, weight and writing experience! I was happily surprised by this pen. The metallic, matte finish is perfect for keeping the pen in place when writing. (doesn't feel like it's slipping) The weight is balanced. Very please with this pen. Would recommend.

Just bought a refill. This is as smooth as a pencil.. a lil worse than a standard ball point in terms of vividness and smoothness. But the erasable part makes up for it
