Yellow Jacket traps. Really cut down on the nest population.
I have been battling yellowjackets for several years, and this set is probably my 3rd or 4th purchase of these traps. I set them up and hang them in trees using a bent up coat hanger. They recommend that you need to change them out monthly, but in all reality, these bags seem to work as a one and done for the summer season. I currently put them out after the first 70 degree day of the year. Leave them up. They fill up and once full, I throw them in the trash. My local yellowjacket population is bearable now.

My Mistake
I tried to get a West Coast version but failed to notice that what I ordered was for east of the Rockies. Of course, they didn't work at all. Be careful when you order this because it can be confusing.

These work, but NOT from Amazon.
Edited review:I wrote my initial review based on this same product, but I bought it at a local Ace Hardware. It worked great. They're cheaper on Amazon, so I also bought some here... and they don't work at all. When I first opened the trap bought from Amazon, I noticed it smelled different than the exact same product I bought locally. I didn't think much of it and set up the bag, then hung it from the same tree I always do.And... nothing. No yellow jackets were attracted, and the few that were in the area buzzed right on by without a care in the world. I left it there for two days and there was not a single bug in the bag. So I threw it away and bought another from Ace Hardware that same day, hung it up, and it's already full of yellowjackets within a day.Not sure why the ones from Amazon don't work, but if yours are a fail, try buying locally and see if that makes a difference. The product works great, but the ones at Amazon are obviously defective.Amazon is just a big old fail lately. This is happening more and more, so I no longer trust any of the products I buy here.Original review:First, don’t be a bonehead like I was and cut the bag open, which renders it useless. ONLY cut the little dotted circle AT THE TOP, where the green plastic thing is. One star off for not making this clear on the package.Second… it works great for yellow jackets. It’s been up for 12 hours and there are already at least 100 dead insects inside.Third… WARNING!! Do not put this within 50 feet of anywhere people will be hanging out! The pheromone is serious business you’ll end up with hundreds of yellow jackets swarming the bag not too long after hanging it.It does work as a great diversion, so if the yellow jackets are causing problems in an area where you don’t want them to be, hang the bag far away from that spot and it will help draw them to the area where the bag is hung.

IT WORKS!!
After being stung three times in one day, I finally decided to unleash HELL on these little monsters!! I read the reviews and decided, with next day shipping, why not? As promised, my Rescue Yellowjacket Trap was in the next morning. I live slightly East of San Antonio so I was instructed to purchase YJTD-E (For East of the Rockies). The product was easy to use and highly effective; just cut a hole around the top, following the dotted-line, ensure a tight fit around plastic cone, fill water to fill-line...the bag says to allow 2-5 hours to completely dissolve...however, be careful because the product works much faster, they go absolutely nuts for this stuff. As I was taking the bag to hang, yellow jackets started to swarm around me...lesson learned!!! So in my next attempt, I put the bag in place and then filled it with water. My yellow jacket problem was much worse than I had expected!! I put out all three bags and within minutes each one was covered in Yellow Jackets. It was completely gratifying, however, to watch as one by one, they were descending down into their DEATH!! Doomed the minute they enter the cone and can't find their way out! After one full day, the water was about half way full with dead jackets. This product WILL attract Yellow Jackets, so be careful not to hang where there is human or animal traffic. Please see the attached photos.
