Why is this product so expensive?

On Aug 8, 2013, the Seller replied to C. Lash this way: 'As compared to other viable alternatives...from a customer service perspective...' 
In other words, they are the only game in town so --for this $30 product-- they can charge whatever the market will bear. (Good ol' American capitalism at work!) 
WORK AROUND: Go to Walmart and buy their $20 kids (or the 2-person) dome tent, spare a few hours in a weekend and make your own cover. Viola!...you just saved $149-$20=$129 !!!

Question 2

What is the difference between the standard edition and the extreme option that can be ordered?

Hi there, thats a great question!  
Our Standard and EXTREME versions come with the same hardware aside from the canopy. The standard model is made overseas, and the EXTREME is made here in the United States by the same company that makes tents for the military. The EXTREME will have a lower temperature cold crack rating (-45 degrees C), a UV treatment which will make it more durable to prolonged sun exposure, as well as a 3 year warranty compared to the one year warranty of the standard.

Question 3

What happens when the rain blows sideways? It looks like the openings toward the bottom will take on rain

Rain from the sides will not get into the electrical panel area as long as the electrical covering skirt is properly installed.  It wraps around the adjacent sides of the electrical panel, which blocks sideways rain and also keeps the flap from lifting in high winds.  This is the key area to keep dry. The rest should remain open so that the generator can breath and will not overheat.

Question 4

Why does this cost $35 more than the Champion standard version that is also made by Gentent?  What's the difference?

Hi Darrin, we manufacture and develop a product for Champion which they are able to sell at any price they like.  This model while similar, does includes some frame adapters which the Champion Storm Shield does not include; as it is made to fit over 2,000+ generators.  The Storm Shield kit is designed to fit all of Champion's open frame generators; not the the variations of frame styles out there.  That being said the Storm Shield WILL have the same quality marine grade vinyl as our Standard edition canopies, as well as the same wind, snow, and rain ratings.
