Mario Badescu Special Cucumber Lotion | Non-Drying & Non-Irritating Facial Toner for Removing Excess Oil & Drying Up Breakouts | Revitalizing, Clarifying Astringent for Face

I was not expecting to actually like this but I was pleasantly surprised. It smells amazing and works really well for my skin as a toner. It lasts long and gives my skin a nice matte, smooth finish that allows my other skin care products to work well. I tried many of the Asian toners and essence products and could never find one that worked well for me. I purchased this out of frustration and I'm so glad I did. Great buy. As long as it's being made I will continue to purchase.

I have had acne problems since I was 11 years old (and I'm over 40), and this is the best product I've used (along with Mario Badescu's Acne Facial Cleanser, which I also highly recommend). It's not like an astringent, which does nothing but dry out your skin. Instead, it acts like a liquid moisturizer/conditioner for your skin, helping to rehydrate it after using the acne wash. I also use it right before I apply any makeup (which is rarely), and it preps my skin like any lightweight moisturizer would, except it doesn't clog or upset your pores. The scent is mild-citrusy-ish in nature, and not medicinal or alcohol-like in any way. Highly, highly recommend this product (and the Acne Facial Wash!!!)

This is the best toner I've ever used. I intend to use this literally for the rest of my life lolI have fair, sensitive, acne prone skin (and I'm a 26 year old guy). It dries out with most toners, which causes the vicious cycle of flaking, overreactive sebum, and breaking out. This toner cleans perfectly, leaves me feeling fresh and balanced, and has a nice scent. The green coloring is great at reducing redness too. A little goes a long way, and I use it twice a day after washing and before any other products (always go thinest to thickest after washing!)Definitely my favorite part of my skin care routine and my skin has never stayed as clear as it does now

I'm in my mid 30's. My skin has been an absolute mess since having an emergency hysterectomy last year. I've tried so many things. I had even tried Curology for a few months. My acne got worse. I have combination skin, and tend to get super oily in my T-ZoneI've had this stuff for a week. This is very gentle on my sensitive skin and leaves it feeling extra clean, so the description "non-drying and non-irritating" is true. But it doesn't have any acne-clearing benefits for me at all. I'm going to continue to use it because it feels good and calming to the skin between washing and moisturizing, but it's not an acne treatment in my opinion.

I've loved almost all of the Mario Badescu products I've tried, and this is no exception. I was a little on the fence at first and feeling it out for a while, but I've realized this is a must have toner for combination/breakout prone skin and also provides great balance from use of Retin A & Clindamycin. When I first used Special Cucumber Lotion, I broke out a little. Only because the moisturizer I used was crap and didn't do anything for my skin. So I cut that out of my routine and just used my cleanser (MB Enzyme Cleansing Gel) and Special Cucumber Lotion, followed by one of my topicals. I figured out that this stuff is actually lightly moisturizing and gives me the right amount of moisture for my skin to balance out drying effects! As well, it keeps breakouts at bay (I still get occasional spots, it's a never-ending battle.) It has a little bit of alcohol in it to disinfect and cucumber extract to soothe. Awesome mild acne toner. And if I feel I need an extra moisture boost, I use aloe vera gel and it doesn't break me out.

I have very sensitive acne prone skin with mild rosacea. The good thing about this lotion is that it doesn’t create problems but it doesn’t resolve any skin issues either. It’s a little moisturizing and doesn’t give me bumps, acne or worsen redness, but I haven’t noticed improvement on anything after a month. I also don’t care for the scent. It has floral scent but I don’t think the fragrance is necessary.
