Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters
S**Y
Barack Obama's beautifully illustrated and inspirational 'letter' to his two daughters.
The short 'letters' briefly tell the stories of inspiring people - from Abraham Lincoln and Chief Sitting-Bull to Albert Einstein and Neil Armstrong, and from Billie Holiday and Helen Keller to Maya Lin. These are just some of the people he writes about. He includes people of all races, religions and beliefs - that make up the American nation. He tells his daughters how he loves and appreciates them and how they can share their unique gifts to build one another up and work to build upon all that is good in their nation. The book is equally affirming and inspiring for young people and older people. I thoroughly recommend it.

What a lovely Father
To think that a father, albeit President of the USA, could take the time to write such lovely things to his daughters. If only more parents could write and tell their children how much they are loved.

Great read!
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband and daughter and they loved it. It's such a cute book and inspiring for kids. It's a quick read, so good for younger kids to read to themselves, but also a good one to read to them at bedtime.

Lucky find
Such a thoughtful and beautiful book. i found this by chance when ordering some library books online so ordered this also. Then I liked it so much i bought a copy. I love the little biographies of all the people Barack Obama features in the book and the illustrations fit his words so well. Have been reading it myself and also to my one year old son who enjoys the pictures and the rhythm of the words. This book can be enjoyed by people of all ages. You are never too young or too old to open a book and feel uplifted.

A delightful book
The thoughts of a good and kind father. This book is obviously aimed at the American market, so British parents may have to brush up on US history, achievements and personalities etc. to answer questions.
