Well written and usefull

Having a brand new electric kiln and having a minimal knowledge of how they work, The Electric Kiln (Ceramics Handbook) is just what the doctor ordered. I still haven't fired anything in the kiln yet, but I will. Thanks to the person who sent it. This book is an absolute must for anyone buying or firing an electric kiln for the first time, or firing a kiln that they are not familiar with. Although when I bought this book I had been firing my own electric kiln for many years, I was then taking on a technician role which involved firing kilns I was not familiar with. This book gave me fresh information & many reminders on everything from the technicalities of the firing process to actually re-wiring a kiln. I have found it very useful when carrying out repairs on my own kiln and for the beginner it includes handy hints & tips on packing, firing, faults & remedies. Every potters' bible!

I'm trying to build a kiln from scratch, ala Dave Gingery. This book provides more information than I had on hand.

good book lots of information but some went straight over the top of my head
