Best gaming laptop and the best price I could find on internet.
This is first time in my life I am reviewing something and also the first time in my life I order something online over a $1000 value, and also the first time I order something from Amazon and have no regret, I got my order 12 days before the promising time, so huge thanks to Amazon my machine is all good and I am happy with your service. I have nothing to say about Helios 300 because I did my 6 months research before getting this machine so all good, highly recommend to those who have a little small budget. Thank you for reading this long review :)

Great value for money!
This laptop performs great, i7 and 1660Ti can handle all latest titles on 1080p MAX settings. The system heats up a bit but that is common in most gaming laptops. 256 SSD is small but additional 1TB SSD would only cost 380AED on average.Got it from Amazon UAE in a very good deal, I am happy with it!

Bang for the Buck gaming LAPTOP
My unit arrived 15 days earlier than I expected. This is my first month of using my Acer Predator Helios 300 which amaze me every single day because of its aesthetic and it's performance are quite impressive. Most of my games are running in ultra settings without any problem or lags, those games are NBA2K20, Dota 2 and CS GO, It runs very smooth also while doing some video editing in adobe premiere pro. I really like the display and the response time seems legit (3ms). I am also thankful because my unit doesn't have any screen bleeding. This is my dream, to have a machine that will not limit you to play almost all games and will not limit your imagination in video editing. When my unit arrived, 1st thing I checked is the screen bleeding because this is the common issues raised in the comment section, (luckily mine doesn't have), then i checked the System information, after that I tested all the ports of the laptop and all of the ports are working properly except the Ethernet (LAN Port), the common RJ45 cable is not entering on the port which leads me to buy a dongle (USB to Ethernet Adapter). But despite of having that one issue I can summarized this review as a satisfied customer and it exceeds my expectations. This is really a BANG FOR THE BUCK, This is 100% recommendable.

Very powerful and capable budget gaming laptop
This laptop is a fantastic budget gaming laptop. The SSD boots right up very quick load times, the GTX card is very capable for almost all gaming needs. I have been playing COD Warzone and it runs extremely smooth, the fans do get loud and after a while they REALLY start pushing hot air out the side to where you can feel it on your mouse hand if youre close enough, I think this is a good indicator of how well its cooling. The one issue that lots of reviewers mentioned and its very true, is that the battery life is abysmal, I can play COD for about an hour unplugged, even just sitting there on the homescreen it will only last maybe 3 hours. i get it with all these powerful features it does use a lot of power, but if you think youll have enough battery for a 4 hour flight this isnt it. BUT with how incredibly well it runs my games, i can forgive it i still give it 5 stars even with the terrible battery life because this is clearly a gaming laptop and it doesnt pretend to be anything else. The custom LED lighting for the keyboard is pretty slick, you can give it different light profiles for different games. The monitor is really impressive for a laptop, even high movement gaming looks fantastic with no perceptible lag. The wireless card is very fast i get about 85-90% wired speeds even with a few walls between the router. Overall im very impressed and I absolutely recommend this laptop for anyone looking for a great gaming rig. Also, its upgradable, it comes with a hard drive expansion kit, and everything can be taken out and upgraded for future proofing.

Buena
Excelente producto. Teclado en inglés. La caja de Acer me llegó como un poco maltratada pero al parecer es la original. Ha funcionado sin problemas ya por meses es un excelente equipo para jugar y enciende más rápido que una mac book del mismo precio.

Solid Midrange Gaming and Powerhouse Laptop
Version Purchased:16GB i7-9750H with GeForce RTX 2060 and 512GB NVMe SSDInitial thoughts:Packaging was quite nice and secure. Felt the laptop was very well protected.Ports:3x USB 3.1 Gen 11x USB 3.1 Gen 2 (USB-C) - Not Thunderbolt 31x Headset Port1x Gigabit Ethernet Port1x MiniDV Port1x HDMI 2.0 PortGraphics:When you first use the laptop, please be advised that games and such will likely default to the Integrated graphics card. I didn't realize this and when testing it in Modded MC RLCraft with Optifine, Max Quality, and Shaders I was only getting between 50-90FPS. Once I changed Nvidia Control Panel to make the RTX2060 the default processor, it jumped up to almost 240FPS.Memory:While I got the 16GB Model I plan on Upgrading to 32GB when Budget allows for it. (Or 64 if/when there is a firmware update, as many MFG's do down the line)[TURBO]:Preset hard-button above keyboard that changes to "Extreme" Overclocking, according to Predator Sense. Didn't notice a difference in CPU? Maybe it is a GPU boost? Either way, it definitely overclocked the twin built-in fans.LED Back-lit Keyboard:While I cannot say for older models, This keyboard is NOT JUST BLUE. In Predator Sense you can change the color of the keyboard in Zones, or apply a lighting effect. As you will see in the video review, I changed mine to purple.Battery Life:Still not adequately tested. I am still updating and installing common software that I use for Development, Work, as well as gaming, so I know it will be about a week until the system is balanced enough to get a decent reading on the battery. That, and Windows itself has already done 2 updates.Productivity:AutoDesk Revit 2018 Runs like a dream on here! Opened a decent sized project I was working on and was able to do a High-Quality Render of a cut section in about 8 Minutes, sync back to the central model in 45 seconds, and then close the model. Maneuvering in 3D with this laptop is a dream, even compared to my workstation. The High CPU Speed really helps since Revit sadly still relies on single-core high speed CPU threads. I would definitely recommend this laptop for CAD/Revit Productivity.Webcam Note:If you are not paying attention, when you first get this machine you will notice that your webcam randomly will turn on... Particularly once you plug in a set of headphones. No... you are not being spied on, this time anyway. This is due to "Waves MaxxAudio" "Waves nX" using the "Sweetspot" feature. It is trying to give you a relative audio experience based on where the computer "Sees" you siting , and can simply be turned off.Keyboard:I specifically chose this laptop over the 500 Series because of the 10-Key layout. In addition to Electrical Work in Revit, I also do programming and reporting. Having access to a 10-Key is a huge boon to me. Typing in general on this keyboard feels natural and didn't require much transitional learning from my Microsoft Surface Book Gen 1.Trackpad:Overall the trackpad is nice, but it is a trackpad. Get a mouse, and turn off touchpad functionality when the mouse is connected and save yourself a lot of heartache.Fan:For everyday use, the fan is fine. If you enable Turbo though, be sure to have a good pair of Noise Canceling Headphones and hopefully have a room/office to yourself. It is quite loud and obnoxious.Additional Notes: I have noticed that there are keyboard protectors for this laptop, and I fully plan on getting it to protect the Chiclet keyboard long term. With the upgradability that this laptop has, I see it lasting many years to come.Also... For some, I know it is called a laptop... Please don't use this on your lap. The way the airflow is designed you could seriously damage it, or yourself if you do. I have seen temperatures reach 180 degrees on this laptop already. If you want to use it in a portable fashion, get yourself a nice lap mat that encourages airflow. This is more like a mini Desktop Replacement with how powerful it is.

Best "gaming laptop" at this price point, full stop.
This is hands down the best laptop, or even desktop, I have ever owned. That's coming from long time AMD guy. It pains me to say this, but AMD just doesn't exist in the mobile market at this time. If you need real power in a laptop, Intel and Nvidia are the only game in town now. I've started traveling more lately so I needed a laptop that could essentially replace my desktop(s) and this Acer has far surpassed my expectations in that regard. See attached image. The construction is solid, and it looks great, in my opinion...sleek enough to pass as professional with just a hint of "gaming laptop" appeal. The fans can get loud when you're hammering on it, that's true. There is no free lunch, a laptop must have compromises when they are stuffed with this kind of hardware. That said, unless you run it in Turbo (read overclocked) mode all the time I find the fan noise more than reasonable. I have not found a game, or CPU workload, that required me to use Turbo in order to have a good experience. It's just stupid fast. In my opinion, you can't find a better laptop for the money, period. As you can tell, I love it. Now, I'll answer some of the questions I had before buying it since there seems to be some confusion. The following information is from my own experience, if Acer changes things up in thefuture I can't help you.The is no RGB on this (the 1660ti) version. The keyboard is blue backlitonly. For me, this is a pro as I’m tired of red, and I think RGB is a sillyoverplayed gimmick. If you go to Acer directly, there are differentversions with different features. The RAM (16gb total) is 2x8gb sticks of Kingston 2666mhz...it is in dualchannel. It scores well in the benchmarks that I have ran and from my ownexperience 16gb is more than enough for 95% of people out there. It'senough for 100% of the gamers. The included 256gb M.2 style SSD is also from Kingston and seems toperform quite well. There is an additional empty M.2 slot in there. I didn't use it, soI have no idea what will or won’t work in that slot. I decided to use the open 2.5inch HDD/SSD space for my storage needs. (Please, for all that is sacred, don't you dare put a regular 2.5 HDD in there and hamstring this finemachine). I opted to stay with the Kingston memory theme and stuck a 1tbKingston 2.5 SSD in there. So, as of this writing I have 186gb free on myC: Drive (it's got all the normal stuff loaded up), and I'm loading mygiant Steam library and other big programs onto the 1tb D: Drive. This, inmy opinion, is the way to go.The CPU is an Intel last gen refresh (you know 14+++++ lol). That said,it's a good one. 6 cores, 12 threads at 45 watts it tough tobeat...actually, I don't think anyone is beating it right now. AMDs mobileRyzens are topping out at 4 core, 8 threads as of the time of this writing. I'm sure higher core count CPUs make their way into the laptop market in the next few years, but for now...this is the best game in town. Also, it's 2019, you don't want a quad core, no matter who makes it. Trust me.The 1660ti is a beastly little thing. Nvidia's naming scheme is clearlyinsane, but this guy is sweet. It's based on the new Turingarchitecture and performs quite well. It will smoke a GTX1060 and spit atthe heels of a decent desktop Vega 56...and all the while using way lesspower. For desktops it's a hard card to love, but in a laptop it'sbrilliant. The battery is fine for what it is. People wanting 10-hour battery life and 144 frames per second in their games, pull yourself together people. Sacrifices must be made for mobility. When on battery the laptop automatically switches over to the Intel IGP and doing regular (non-taxing) stuff will get you 4-5 hours. You can force the 1660ti to play ball while running on the battery through the Nvidia control panel...but I hope you don't plan on a long gaming session...maybe 1.5 hours. Pro tip: You want to game? Find a wall outlet. The "Killer" WIFI and internet stuff...actually works. I was getting stupid fast wireless downloads at distances away from my router that shocked me. I'm not even going to run an ethernet cable unless I'm playing a FPS. Blazing fast connection and rock solid so far. Sadly, you will have to remove Norton (duh) and Windows 10 comes with the usual fluff that nobody wants...it is what it is. Took me about 30 minutes to remove all the silly stuff and download all the stuff I actually needed. Keep the Predator App, I think they will be useful (Update: It is, see below update). When I was setting up this machine, I did log it into my Microsoft account, and it appears I have Office installed. Not sure if that's because I have Office on another machine registered to my account...or if this comes with Office. Your mileage may vary. The "Turbo" button...here's the deal. It only works when plugged in and above 40% battery. It basically raises the voltage limits of the machine, while turning on the fans full blast. This results in the CPU auto boosting on more cores and higher than usual. Oh, and it also overclocks the 1660ti! Yes, yes you read that right...basically it's an "overclock button". Normally I would laugh at such silliness, but I have to say...it works. It sounds like a small jet, but it goes like one too. I use it for benchmarking and playing around...but you could game with it in Turbo, provided you have headphones. All that said, I'm getting like 62 fps in AC Odysseus on Very High WITHOUT "Turbo". If you're familiar with this painfully un-optimized AAA title you will understand how impressive that is, lol. Love that game though...don't judge me. Hope this helps someone make a big decision.Edit: Update 7/18/19I read a review where someone was having issues with an echo on the audio. I didn't have this problem as I have an external sound processor that I use. At any rate, I plugged in my headphones directly (1/8th jack) and sure enough...there was an echo. After a bit of investigation, it's from the "Waves MaxxAudio" App. This app can be tuned/disabled through the Predator App under the App center portion. Turn that guy off, and your echo goes away. That particular App might be useful in a gaming situation, but if your just watching videos or listening to music it falls a little short. I never thought I would say this, but let Windows control your sound and you will be fine, lol.Edit 9-25-19. Man I love this thing. I travel (airplanes) with it weekly and thus far it has been flawless. Every evening when I get done with work I'm reminded how nice the keyboard on this thing is compared to my company issue Lenovo work laptop. No regrets, I'd still buy it at the current price...very few laptops can compete at this price range.Edit 11-26-19. Still the best at this price point. 1660ti is just the best for laptops balancing performance and battery.Edit: 11-23-20. So, shopping season is near and I figured I would update this for people shopping around. I purchased this in July 2019, for less than it is selling for today. Really unsure how that works as there is a new 2020 model that is marginally faster (this is the 2019 version with the 9750h). At any rate, I'm still in love with this thing, I was actually shopping for another one to buy my daughter. Since purchase, I have started running a 1440p monitor off the display port and it does just fine. I'm not getting 100fps at that resolution, but 60fps in most titles with the settings cranked is just fine for me. Also, freesync/gsync, whatever were are calling it these days is brilliant...but only works off display port, not HDMI. In summary, I would buy again at the price I paid for it the first time around ($1199.99).
