The right container for what I needed
I've bought most of Progressive's line of containers. This set of 2 flour keepers are the best price, at least at this time, for these. The picture is wrong, seems to be their powdered sugar container which has that open latch on the lid - the flour keeper does not, it's a solid lid. I've also purchased 3 sets of these "flour keepers" for my needs - using them to store flour, rice, and several other dry goods while still fitting into my limited cabinet space. What I received: 2 of these sets were the pictured red and white version, while 1 set came in as their black and white version. The red and white ones are apparently their older model, whereas the black and white one is their updated model. Both are still in production which can cause some confusion. Looking at the purchases, they all came from different sellers. My guess is that whichever you receive can depend on the seller.I honestly like both versions. Both seal airtight although the black one seems even tighter. The black model has a detachable lever that attaches to the bottom of the lid. It also has measurement markers on the front of the container. It is slightly wider as the shape is a tad more oval. The height, however is the same as the red one. They have been perfect for my needs! It fit 5lbs of all-purpose flour no problem, but results may vary for other flours since only about 4lbs of rice flour fit. Choosing these containers have so far been a great decision! I do not expect the seals to wear down over time. Very happy with my purchase. Be assured if anything changes I'll update my review appropriately.

Best Flour Container
I do a lot of baking. Measuring is critical to a good baking outcome. With bread, I like to use the "Scoop & Swipe" method. Over time this method most closely approximates the proper weight of ingredients. This container has all of the critical items like an air-tight seal and room to scoop. This container has a built-in swipe lip so you get consistent measurements every time. I gave it five stars because it has all of the items I want to see in a flour container.

Keeps it fresh & neat!
I regularly use both gluten-free and regular flour in my kitchen, and these containers are perfect! I had used extra large pickle jars for years, but when one broke when I was baking with kids, I decided plastic was the safest way to go for storage of baking items. These containers are built well and have an air-tight seal to keep the flour fresh. The rectangular shape also fits better in my pantry, so that these stay nice an organized. After about a year, I splurged and purchased other matching containers for my sugar and other gluten-free flours. I can't recommend enough!

Great flour container
These containers are great for storing flour. I have four of them and they stack nicely on top of each other. I use three for flour (wheat, bread, and unbleached) and the level works great! It's such a useful feature and you don't have to dirty a knife leveling out your measuring cups. I use the fourth for sugar, even though the level is unecesaary, just because the containers stack so well that it made my pantry more organized than if I had a different sugar container. They also fit nicely next to or in front of each other without a lot of wasted space. If you like organization and the built in level feature, you'll love these!

NOT BUG PROOF THEREFORE NOT AIR-TIGHT!
DO NOT PURCHASE FOR AIR-TIGHT FOOD STORAGE! Progressive claims that these canisters are airtight; they are not! I am an avid baker and cook and purchased two of these canisters in addition to the Keeper set along with several individual pieces in July 2017 for my different organic flours, sugars, baking soda, baking powder, chocolate chips and other baking ingredients. I just discovered that a bag of rice I had purchased from WalMart was contaminated with pantry moths which has had devastating effects on my pantry including the paper items; I had never heard of these before--what a nightmare! While sorting through food to discard, I was dismayed to discover the moths and their cocoons were inside of EVERY ONE of these canisters! It's not as if one seal failed; EVERY ONE OF THEM WAS CONTAMINATED!!! I discarded all the containers with the contents. I hate to think how much money was wasted on both the containers and the food by relying on their claims. I'm again searching for airtight storage containers but this time I will test their claims. This was a very expensive lesson that I won't repeat.

Not great and here is why...
These are just "ok" and here's why: the levelling bar is angled so that it is only useful for SPOONS so if you try a 1-cup of flour in the flour canister, you cannot use that ledge to clear excess since angle you have to place the cup, makes contents fall out. Guess that is why the embossed symbol on the levelling edge is of a SPOON only! As to the brown sugar holder, I followed ALL directions to a "T"; then inserted a new fresh bag of brown sugar. When I went to get some in couple days, I found the sugar around the ceramic piece had "whitened" and hardened off! Very strange. As to the powdered sugar canister - when I went to invert my newly filled one, I ensured the lid was snapped tight and wanted to use the "shaker" part. Well it came out when I tapped on the bottom of the inverted canister but then when placed right side up, I had to use a pastry brush and hold it over sink to remove the excess sugar from the areas where the lid to the shaker part, would come down - in order to get it to close/seal! SOOOOOO I had high hopes and expectations for these canisters but find them more gimmicky than serious. They DO open with one hand fairly easily but they don't get lifted (when full) with one of my hands!!! Lifting a full canister requires both my hands...

Nice container for flour but with limitations for some
I like these storage containers but one must bear in mind that you need space around it to open it up to use. So if you have a baking drawer like I do with numerous containers of flours, it really needs to be taken out to get it open and not make a mess. Still, it seems to be of pretty good quality and I still use it. The leveling side piece is a convenience. I just wish the lid came off instead of hinged on the side.
