SmittyBilt BRACKET KIT SB ROOF - SBDRS-6

the smittybilts are just what i needed to attach my yakima round bars to the top of my factory crossbars on my 2017 Chevy Traverse. The Traverse has a strange set of rails on top that neither Yakima nor Thule make towers to fit. I need wide bars to put Two Thule Boxes on top, side by side, and the smittybilt clamps allow me to do this. They are solid and well-made. The only adjustment i made was to saw off about an inch of the screws along with a bit of the nylon bolts in order to make the boxes sit flat. The u-shaped screws and bolts are quite long and stick up past the top of the bars when asssembled. Cutting them allows the boxes to sit evenly on the bars. Great product. and while not condoned by yakima, who i consulted with, these clamps are an inexpensive solution and a great purchase. 5 stars!

I used this to mount my Wrangler's Defender rack onto the Thule Rack bars of my Chevy Silverado cap. Which means I didn't have to buy another rack for use on my truck! If you're looking to reuse your Smittybilt racks on vehicles with other roof rack bars, this is the bracket kit you need. My only beef with these is that the u-bolts poke up a little higher than the defender's rack bars, so if you're moving stuff around on the rack they can snag up on the protrusion. Not enough to punch a hole in a spare tire, but just enough to irritate you. I may grind them down about 3mm or so.

I wanted a rack for my Hummer H3. I came across the Smittybilt 45654 for a deal I couldn't pass up. I searched everywhere but couldn't find factory mounts specific for that rack or my vehicle. These match up perfectly with my factory cross bars and hold secure after over a thousand miles.

My dad got the Smitty defender secondhand, and the person did not have the Clips these fit perfectly on his Thule brand crossbars with slight adjustment.

These are the mounting brackets that Smittybilt recommended to mount my defender rack. The diameter of the loop is larger than the round crossbars of the rack so it just slides around. I had to fill the gap with a very hard foam rubber to fill the gap. Hold well now. I’m happier with it then the review may lead on because these are the only mounting brackets I was able to find to mount my Smittybilt rack to my Yakima cross bars. They do make you rack sit high off your crossbars. Also these are a set of 6! Listing made me believe this price was for each.

It is functional. Most parts are cheap plastic. The housing on two wing nuts came dislodged and I will have to replace them myself. Customer service was no help as these kits from pre packaged from overseas.

Since Yakima is have no supply chain issues I chose to use these in the meantime. They work great.
