Unacceptable SWR
I have a new Uniden 980 SSB CB and purchased this antenna. I mounted it on the center of the roof on my 2014 F-150 pickup. The initial SWR measurements were awful and showed the antenna is too short. I adjusted the length to make it longer and still got dangerously high SWR (5+) on both channels 1 and 40. I was added another section to the antenna and was able to get the SWR to around 1.5 on channel 40 but still 4+ on channel 1. Since I had to add another section to the antenna I'm thinking it is either defective or of poor quality. I wanted to give you a chance to respond before leaving feedback.

4.5 mile range, verified.
I purchased this antenna as an interim solution while trying to find a way to mount a Friestik on my 2017 Suburban which has a plastic body and I didn't want to drill a hole in it. I was only able to get 1.3 SWR but rec/xmit is clear. I did a distance check from the West bound 55 on-ramp in Memphis below the road grade and bridge going over the Mississippi river with the 5 channel CB shop at exit 4 in West Memphis. 4.5 miles according to Google maps. This is excellent performance for an antenna this size! Granted, this was on top of my suburban, so height was good with no obstructions, but I was still impressed. I recommend this product! SWR was measured using a MFJ-259D SWR Antenna analyzer.

Useless for CB, or any other radio.
This antenna is not even slightly usable for a CB radio or any of the frequency bands listed. The antenna is about 4โ too short to be used as a CB antenna. I ended using a piece of welding rod to replace the top whip and I could get the SWR dialed in, but the coax cable is such poor quality, any shifting of movement of the cable or moving metal objects near the cable blew the SWR all over the place. After screwing around with it for an hour, I just gave up and sent it back. Even if the antenna was the right length out of the box, the unstable SWR makes it useless. Piece of junk.

Hit or miss
The top portion of the antenna came bent and initial SWR readings on both channel 1 and 40 were over 3.0 and over 2.5 tuned. I bought another branded mag mount and had no issues with SWR with the same setup (Uniden 510xl) so it definitely was an issue with this antenna.Edit: changed to three star review: after mounting on another vehicle, I was able to get 1.3-1.5 SWR, so my best guess is this particular antenna couldn't get a good ground plane on my 2014 Ford explorer. Still docking points for the antenna being bent and unusable on one vehicle.

Canโt tune the SWR Low
Tried for over a week to get the SWR calibration below 3. Never was able to. Nothing I did made it any better. Thru in garbage and bought different antenna. An inside 25 minutes I had SWR tuned to 1.7 lo on Channel 1 and 1.4 on channel 40.My recommendation is do buy this.
