What a treasure of information. This book was originally published in 1985, and nothing else has touched it up to date. It may look on the old-fashioned side, but the details are unbeatable. In black and white, it allows you to think of your own colourways, but the inside back cover has colour versions photographed if you are unsure about your choices. Smocking is a delight to do, this handy little book certainly adds to the pleasure.

This delightful book is really a treasury of smocking patterns. I believe it is aimed at persons who already have a certain amount of skill and experience. The instructions are clear and well explained, but beyond the skills of a pretentious beginner such as myself. With time and practice, however, I will be able to tackle some of the patterns I just love in this book. I wish I had started smocking earlier but, like most skills, practice is necessary and I'm not there yet. When I am, this book will become my new best friend.

以前から購入を悩んでいて、お安く出品されていた為購入しました。懐かしい感じのスモック図案が、モノクロで載っています。カラー部分は表紙、裏表紙、それぞれの表紙裏表紙の裏側のみです。中身は全部モノクロで、ワンピースの全体写真もモノクロです。カラーで無い部分は残念なのですが、ステッチに関してはわかりやすくまた、図案はかなりわかりやすいと思います。いろいろな図案を見てみたい人には、おすすめです。
