This is an absolutely fantastic book. The steps to progress are interesting and although sometimes not immediately fun, once I've explained the reason behind each tune, my son shows much more enthusiasm and has worked through the book without the need for a teacher. I would also say that this is suitable for adult beginners simply by the fact that they would appreciate the concept behind the basic songs.

This is the piano book series our kids' piano teacher required. The kids play beautifully, know how to read music, & have been able to learn other instruments after having the piano foundation. They also sing vocal & have been in multiple musicals. One of them is teaching younger siblings with the same series. Our older kids really wore the books put from practicing & playing daily or else we could have used them for younger kiddos. This time around we purchased the full set & 2 extra Theory workbooks, so they can share the other books, but each has their own Theory Book. We would purchase the books again.

This Faber Piano Adventures theory book is a fantastic resource for young beginners; the Primer Level is perfectly paced and introduces musical concepts in a way that is both engaging and easy to understand. My student has really enjoyed the variety of activities, from music note reading to rhythm practice; the illustrations are charming and help maintain interest throughout the lessons. The ear training exercises are a great addition and provide a well-rounded foundation for future piano studies; the layout is clean and the instructions are clear for both teacher and student. It's an essential workbook that complements the Lesson Book beautifully; I've seen great progress in my student's understanding of music theory since we started using it.
