BSA: The Complete Story

BSA...motorcycles of their time.
Not too bad a read. It might appear that the author doesn't have many positive things to write about BSA but when you notice that some captions do not describe the pictures they relate to or that the author seems not to have noticed that a C15 has an oil tank for engine oil and a seperate filler plug above the gearbox for gear oil you have to accept that he, the author, has written well but with some limited practical experience of these motorcycles.BSA should have developed the use of oil filters especially as they had been car manufacturers and not have relied on wire gauze and centrifugal sludge traps to be adequate. Their machines were of their time and very good too but times changed rapidly and the British had a view that perhaps needed more cohesion to keep up.Some of the more modern photographs could have been posed or taken from a more attractive angle as they really do fail to illustrate the machines. This all sounds a bit sad. It is a book that l shall read again and see the same faults but put them right mentally as l go along.

Good Book
Good book on the BSA motorcycle story with some detailed informations on the brand and the various models, the only thing is that it doesn't give the data on the frame and engine numbers, the production no.s etc.
