How many keys can be programmed with macros? How many commands/characters per macro?

You should be able to set macros to just about all of the keys through the software. I believe it is capped off at 198 inputs per macro recording. CM-PNguyen

Can you totally eliminate the lighting on this keyboard?

Yes, you can. You can set the lighting to off within the software. You can also cycle through the lighting options by pressing Fn+F1 until the lighting is off. CM-PNguyen
