My grandsons (ages 3 and 4) loved these! The eggs are a good size and you get 12 in this pack. Inside is a variety of colorful small dinosaur figures. AND the egg itself is chalk-- 3 toys in one!

Well packaged, individually with instructions and tool. Easy to easy for kids to prep and excavate. My grandsons loved it but my granddaughters were crazy about them! Great for party favors, Easter baskets, and stocking stuffers!

Bought this for my 4 year old son. Super fun amd super messy. We had to soak the egg longer than what was recommended due to the eggs being so hard. Would buy as a gift

I bought this for my 6 year old who loves dinosaurs and we had a blast chiseling the eggs and finding our dinosaurs! The kit comes with 12 hard clay eggs that you have to soak for about 5 minutes in a cup of water to soften the clay. Each egg is individually wrapped and comes with it's own directions and chisel, so if you are using this for a class or birthday party, everyone has their own materials to use. I also love that each egg has a different dinosaur in it so there are no duplicates within the kit and the element of surprise is so much fun!Once you have soaked the egg, use the chisel to chip apart and scoop the clay. After a few minutes, you get a small dinosaur about an inch or two tall. She likes to play with hers in the tub. These are kind of expensive, but they are a lot of fun and educational because the kit comes with a pamphlet that tells facts about each dinosaur and you can also practice classifying them by plant or meat eater, two legged or four legged, etc. There is so much to do with these! There are other kits as well such as sea life and wild animals that I plan to purchase.

Bought this for my 3 and 4-year-old grandsons. They were almost obsessed with them! I let them each have one egg every night and they loved it! They couldn't wait to uncover the dinosaur in the egg and determine from the guide which one they got. It's by far the best excavation product I've seen. I softened the eggs up in water a little more than the recommended 5 minutes, and used the included tool to start an egg "crack" just to make it a little easier. Really a cool product.

I bought this gift for my niece and nephews for Christmas (ages 2-6) and it was a big hit! I had to help the younger ones a lot, but they really enjoyed digging out their dinosaur. It was a unique gift that I didn't have to worry about someone else duplicating. I purchased a LEGO dinosaur along with these eggs and it was a great combo.Fair warning: this is a very messy project so be prepared to protect your interior surfaces as well as clothing. The "egg", once wet, is like a thick wet clay and makes a mess similar to peanut butter.

The price seems kinda steep. Then we received these and gave them to our son for his birthday as he was obsessed with watching these be dug up on his favorite web show. One of the best purchases I have made. Product is exactally as described. We had tons of fun digging the dinosaurs out. Bonus is the book that names and describes each dinosaur we dig up! Definately worth every penny. I am tempted to buy another box as we have made it threw ours.

Great adventure for a 5 year old

I would recommend these to any parent if you want a daily activity to do with your child. We dug out one egg every day and my son loved it. The clay is a little hard to chip at, so we had to help him with every egg but made a great bonding moment

Purchased these eggs for my 4 year old grandson for Christmas. We didn't find them too messy, as we had him dig the eggs in a container. They are just about the right time for a 4 or 5 year old to get the little dinosaur out. Any longer and it would of become frustrating for him.

these are the best. wish they were cheaper but i bought a box and every other day me and my son would crack one open and get a cute little dino. would purchase again.great for birthdays. quick delivery.
