Q: How do I get the buckle to work after I've shortened the strap? It doesn't seem to click together with the part on the cap at all.

From what you've descried it sounds like when you shortened the strap you reversed/turned over the buckle part. It looks similar both sides but in fact the buckle will only snap on the cap on one side only. Try turning the buckle over, thread the strap through and you'll find that the snap will attach properly.

I've never had that problem so I don't have an answer for you.

Q: What is the maximum length of hair that can fit?

My hair goes down to my knees! I bundle it into a lose bun on the upper back of my head . As with ANY cap , my hair doesn’t stay dry. (But at least it’s out of my face. )
