I purchased these because they were described as having smooth toes. If fact they have the hardest toe seam imaginable. When I contacted the seller they stated the item was as described! When I contacted them again they failed to respond. If you want baggy topped socks with extremely uncomfortable toe seams these are the ones for you!!! You might even be able to purchase mine from the local charity shop where they have ended up!!!

These socks look nice but the material is very thin indeed hence why only 4 starsUpdate, worn a couple of times and as you can see from the photo they are threadbare!Definitely would not recommend these

These are really nice socks, and feel really good quality. At first, I thought they weren't gentle grip at all, because they have the normal, narrow strip of elastic at the top, but after having worn them, I would say they are far gentler than normal socks, but not fully gentle grip. My legs swell up, so I need socks that don't leave deep ridges in my legs - these do leave a slight ridge, but are comfortable to wear and stay up well while being comfortable. The toe seam is also very smooth and barely noticeable. I like bamboo socks, as the material is nice and smooth, and washes and wears well. I think the antibacterial thing might be a bit of a gimmick, as once processed, I've read bamboo looses its antibacterial properties, but it's a greener option than cotton, so I also prefer bamboo for that reason. However, while these are very nice socks, at £3 per pair, they're £1 more per pair than other bamboo socks I bought that were of comparable quality, and those also had a more comfortable top than these, so I personally prefer the other socks to these. But if you're more worried about them staying up (both stay up well for me) while still having comfortable elastic, then these are probably the ones to go for.. They're made of 75% viskose (from bamboo), 22% polyester and 3% elastane, which is a slightly lower elastane content than most bamboo socks and wash at 40 degrees. I have to say that the material of these does feel extra-smooth, when compared to other bamboo socks, but for me, that's not really worth the extra £1 per pair that these cost (especially as the elastic at the top is less comfortable, as said above). The size is quite generous, I wouldn't actually say they're too large for my size 5 feet, but I have to make sure I don't stretch them out fully when putting them on, otherwise, the heel won't sit in the right place, but halfway up my leg. They come up to a standard height for ankle socks. Overall, am pleased with these, and would recommend them, depending on where your priorities lie. If it's the really smooth fabric and the very smooth toe seam, and you don't mind paying a bit extra for that, then these are the ones to go for, plus if you want socks that will definitely stay up, while still being gentler grip than most, then I would recommend these. If you want a really gentle grip, and would prefer to pay a bit less for good bamboo socks, there are better options, I would say.. I have attached photos: if they look grey or whitish, that's my lighting, they are deep black in colour.

Soft, light, comfortable socks. No problem with toes or around ankle for me at all, and they wash well. I'll definitely buy more!So, an update - yes these socks are soft and comfy. Unfortunately they wear out quite quickly! I've worn through the soles. Bought more, they wore through too. However, if you want comfortable socks and don't mind replacing them after six months ... that's what I'm doing. Pity they don't last longer!

I was very disappointed by these socks, they are huge, I have size 4/5 feet so didn't expect a perfect fit but the heel was half way up my calf and when my husband with size 11 feet tried them on they fit him very well. I have other bamboo socks which are lovely but these felt like nylon and the inside of them is black as if they are made of two layers. Really not good at all.

Probably the softest and most comfortable pair of socks I have ever worn. I purchased the black and the grey colour and I will now be buying the dark blue ones. I found them to be very well made and they benefit from soft grip tops which means you are not left with a 'shackles brand' above the ankle area after wearing for a while, and are altogether much more comfortable. They are also not too thick or heavy but fine and lightweight, but with no loss of the snuggly comfort and warmth you want from socks. I think they are top quality, good value and, for me, highly recommended.

I bought these socks for my work as a nurse....so walking around all day. They are comfortable and cool enough not to end up with overheated feet. However, the reason why I am giving them only one star is this. From the moment I opened them I thought they were not going to last. I only wear bamboo socks and one of the reasons for that is that they are very robust and last a lot longer than your bog standard socks. I have had my current collection for over a year and no holes in sight yet. However, after just one full day at work these new socks were showing wear at the big toe....and I trim my nails all the time so not much nail there really to wear anything down. I wore my second pair for three days.......now there is a very definite hole. I'm not impressed. I'm not sure if I will bother to even darn them as they feel too flimsy to even hold a darned repair. Shame.

So impressed on every level. My socks arrived yesterday as planned in an attractive, good quality recyclable wrapper and sets of socks nicely presented (ordered these and coloured) - in same package which is totally appropriate. Having bathed & creamed my feet (suffering Epidermolysis Bullosa symptoms), these socks feel like silk, light, smooth & honestly, a total relief from discomfort. Due to hyper sensitivity, tenderness, I cannot have seams & these socks truly are blissfully made with the tiniest, finest grade materials with minimal seaming (as I've tried to show in photos). This is the best buy I've made for my poor feet in 14mths of trial & error. Buy them, you won't be sorry - apart from sorry you didn't buy them sooner (like me).
