Great size for price-- here's how to fix it if you dog doesn't chew!
These are good sized antlers for the price. I would have given 5 stars, but my dogs weren't really that interested HOWEVER!! I've had this issue with other natural antlers (the ones coated in gook are super-appealing of course!) and a friend told me to put them in a pot of beef broth (enough to cover the bones) and bring to a boil, then turn down to warm for a few hours. Make sure you turn the bones over every so often and check the broth as it will decrease in volume. Now I can't keep my dogs off the bones. I had to take one away from my lab last night at bedtime and he whined and begged for it for at least an hour. Just thought I'd post in case that helps the rest of you :-)

Taking care of my Granddog!
I bought the antler for my son-in-law's dog because he was dtrving everyone crazy by bringing in oversized sticks and chewing them up in the living room -- threatening eyes and creating a mess. He knew exactly what to do with the antler. He loves chewing it. And he hasn't pulverized it yet. When he does, I'll buy another. Think it was a good buy for a large dog who loves to chew. I'm his best Grandma and he doesn't even know it.

MY DOGS HAVE NO INTEREST
I have a pit bull (major chewer) and a black lab, and both turned their nose up to these. They came packaged in a thick clear plastic bag, but the bones did not look like the photo at all. The antlers we received were thin and pasty white color. My dogs came up to me while I was opening, as soon as I pulled it out and handed 1 to them, they both took it from my hand and set them on the floor next to me. They have no scent that interests them in the least bit. So that was a lot of money for nothing. We've bought elk antlers before, but never deer, Elk last a long time as they whittle away at them. These will last a long time because they won't chew them. Seller should post picture of actual product. **UPDATED** I updated to 2 stars because my pit bull did start chewing on 1 antler last night, but shows little interest.

Was looking for somthing that would last a long time..
I have a 'super chewer' dog. She can chew right through the hardest rubbers, through the thickets ropes. I've been sticking mainly to the artificial super-dense dog toys which seems to be the most resistant to super-chewers - but kept my eyes open to provide a bit of chewing variety..I decided to try a deer antler to see if I could find something all-natural that would also last. The price was right, so I took a shot..Let me tell you, these antlers are TOUGH. I'd say on-par with the NylaBones I've been buying. Just like the NylaBones, over time my dog was able to slowly whittle it down - with very small pieces coming off over time. I didn't notice anything negative from this, and watched closely to make sure no large pieces were coming off (non did).Overall, the Antler lasted a few months, and was her favorite toy for quite some time.Good purchase, and will buy again!

Great antler chew at a good price!
My service dog Duke is a powerful chewer. The Nylabone Durachew for large dogs he will gnaw down to the size of a nub within a month. The antler that he got as a graduation present, however, lasted a good long while so I decided it would be better to get him another antler. The Dear Valley larger antler pictured looked to be a good size for a 65 lb, Labrador, and it has high reviews so that was the one I picked.I was not disappointed in the least, and neither was Duke. It arrived today, January 6th, after ordering on Sunday the 3rd. Great timing, too, since this morning I had deemed the Nylabone had been chewed small enough to be trashed, an act that made for one sad faced black Lab. But when I checked the mail Duke cheered right up. He could smell it through the wrapping and was very excited to have a new chew toy. The piece is 10" long, and Y-shaped, which is a nice size for a dog of Duke's build, and despite almost an hour of chewing, it's still not shown any wear. It's made my Duke ecstatic, and that's what's most important.

Awesome Antlers and Customer Service
The dogs in my life love these! When only one was shipped on my order they were very nice and got back to me right away. When they sent me the replacement antler, they not only apologized profusely for their mistake, but sent me another $14.00 antler free of charge! I love that they are naturally shed and that they trim off all the spiky parts that are easy to step on when our little and big friends leave them around the house. I would definitely recommend the antlers and the company! Go deer valley!

Size does matter!
I purchased 2 of these antlers and they are both 6" long at best not 7" as advertised . It's too late to send them back because they were Christmas presents for my 2 rescue dogs and they love antlers to chew on. I doubt if I will buy from them again because I hate false advertising!

Great chew toy for labs.
My chocolate lab loves to chew and I wanted to try something new and different besides the regular white femur bones I usually get her. I like how these "break down" better as she is chewing it as compared to the cow femurs because I don't notice all the chips missing from it as I sometimes see with those bones. These don't seem to last as long and are a little pricey (they are pricey everywhere no not just this product, it is cheaper than most I have seen). These are not as thick as the femour so that is one reason they don't last as long. Overall it is a great chew toy and I am still undecided on if I would continue to purchase the antlers over the femurs simply because of the price. But quality is great!
