Knock out minor yet obnoxlous pain with this topical combo
I've used Aspercreme for years for pain control. It isn't miraculous, but it does help with minor pains. It is affordable and readily available in drug stores locally or here on Amazon. My SO likes that it doesn't heat up like capsaicin products, which he hates putting on me. He can put Aspercreme on me without having to wear gloves or do an intense hand-scrubbing afterwards.I love Lidoderm patches. Those are miraculous. But my insurance has recently been fighting me on coverage. There's a prescription Lidocaine (the ingredient in Lidoderm) gel that doesn't work well. The pain relief is significantly less and only lasts about an hour, even if you cover it with an occlusive dressing to keep it on your body. There's also a non-prescription Lidocaine gel which is also not fantastic. However, when I saw this Aspercreme with lidocaine, I had to try it.It's better than I expected. The Aspercreme works as usual, but the combo with the lidocaine seems to work a bit synergistically causing better and longer lasting pain relief. I can't reach all of my low back where this would need to be applied throughout the day, so I only get to use it there on Saturdays when my SO is usually around. I can put it on my neck and part of my shoulder (part of that's out of reach too). I have pain around my knees and ankles that isn't as intense as the back/neck/shoulder cabal and I use it there often for some relief. It's not a life-changing difference, but it is noticeably better than Aspercreme by itself. On areas of minor pain, this is pretty darn good. If you're facing disabling pain, this won't fix you, but it might take some of the edge off. It's absolutely worth trying, it actually ought to be in everybody's medicine cabinet, and I'll be buying it again.

1000 and 1 uses...It is just lidocaine but lidocaine is awesome.
Definitely works well for mild aches, pains, soreness and skin issues. Primary ingredient is Lidocaine 4%. I do not believe it contains any NSAIDs. Rub it on and things will go numb in a few minutes. Keep this in mind when applying it, you definitely want to rinse your hands immediately if you apply it with bare hands.Lidocaine is a topical anesthetic, so it makes things go numb. It does not reduce inflammation, it just masks your bodies ability to feel pain where it is applied. Again, keep this in mind as your injury or source of pain is not getting better or having the inflammation reduced. It is just covering up the pain, so if you do feel better do not over use the area of injury or it may hurt worse once it wears off.I've used it on both knee and lower back pain with good results. But there are a ton of uses where I could see this coming in handy such as bug bites/stings, rashes, tattoos, piercings, mild burns, paper cuts, scrapes, blisters, and hair waxing.I carry a bottle in my back pack whenever I go hiking or camping.

No smell, works well, but not powerful enough to totally eliminate major pain
I bought this for topical relief after I fell and injured my tailbone, since I'd been told that tailbone bruising can take around 8 weeks to recover and I didn't want to take pill painkillers for such a long period. The cream has no smell and can be applied easily just like any body lotion. It did not irritate my skin at all. The painkilling effect was also pretty fast acting and I felt some relief within minutes. However, during the first week or so, when my tailbone was really hurting if I sat down, it was only able to mute the intense pain slightly - I still needed to take a hefty dose of naproxin or ibuprofen in order to sit with any comfort. However even on its own, it provided some dampening of the pain. I used it to help me get to sleep at night, when I wasn't in a lot of pain because I was lying down and not sitting - it took care of the low-level ache that would have kept me from dozing off.

Expensive but works well
Works really well for local pain, arthritis, inflammation, muscle pain. Very quick working, better than waiting for pills to kick in and nice to hit the pain locally instead of medicating the entire body. Not a lot in the bottle, and is pretty expensive, but it does work well and doesn't need a lot to work. I use regular for larger areas and use this on the sharpest pain, seems to work well that way and not waste this on lesser pain.

Great product to relieve and numb away pain and spasms
Love this product really reduces the pain and spasms in my hip,leg and back. I take prescription painkillers but they are not always enough. I find asperacream products do the trick by numbing out the pain and spasms. Especially at night this helps me to go back to sleep. It is easy-to-use just rub it in. Does not have any funny odors. Not greasy. Does not burn or have heat which I personally dislike. Has a cool feel when you put it on but it is one I like compared to other brands I have tried which have been many. There are 3 brands I really like asperacream, salonpas just wish they would bring back the white patches and penetrexI have had back pain and ongoing problems since 1995 and through the years have tried many pain relieving products some which do not work at all.
