Overall this is well made out of heavy metal (not thin cheap crap) and looks really authentic compared to a few real and restored helmets I've seen in museums. It is coated with a lot of oil for storage and shipping, but that's way better than corrosion if it sits in a warehouse for a few months. It only took a few minutes to wipe off the oil. The only complaint is that the attachment point of the crest to the helmet is a very flimsy and lose nut/bolt. I ended up just welding the mount for the crest onto the helmet and now it's really sturdy. Not necessary if you're going to just keep it on display, but if you're going to use it for reenactments (or let your nephew mess with it) it's worth a few bucks to have a welding shop do a quick tack weld for you. For the money I have seen nothing out there close to this as far as quality construction or historical authenticity. Deliver was fast and exactly as advertised.

This helmet will be a conversation piece for many years to come. I can tell it is well made and the price is very competitive with other sellers online. The Plume adds a great touch and authority to the helmet and planning on getting the pilum and Gladius with the shield to complete my collection.Pros:1- Well made and looks expensive.2- Authentic roman helmet.3- Very good price others sell the same item for $120 to $250. (Are you kidding me).Cons:1-The paint on the side of the helmet looked a little spotty. (But in a way it gives the helmet an antique look).2-The helmet came out of the box very oily.. Got it all over my cloths. So watch out for that..3-The hinges on the cheek armor looked weak. So I think it may fall off if you keep playing with it.In conclusion. I highly recommend this item for any one that likes and collects roman military equipment. You get great value for your money.

I don't have anything negative to say. Looks great. Does have oil on it. It would be nice to have instructions on what I need to do for maintenance, but I will just have to search online. Very good product. (I use it as a model only.)

Comes with a liner and nice wooden helmet stand. Would suggest using a screw and acorn nut if helmet is to be worn and actually used in a production. You can add additional foam in the top of the helmet for comfort. Very well made and super fast shipping.

Helmet not as pictured. Nice helmet but crest is held on by leather straps, and loose. Would prefer helmet as pictured.

Would have been five stars were it not for lacerating my hand on a jagged, exposed piece of metal. Once I bandaged my hand I found several other razor-sharp jagged pieces. There is simply no excuse for lazy finishing...it would have taken less than a minute to buff the edges. It took me just a few minutes with a small metal file to set it right. Beyond that, the helmet is very cool and authentic looking, and comes with a nice leather cap interior and straps so it is relatively comfortable to wear. I do recommend buying one with the caveat that you remove it carefully from the box and check for sharp or jagged edges.

I'm a history nut so this item was right up my alley!! It arrived as advertised, packaged well and in good condition. No scratches or bents. It had a good coating of oil but that wiped off easily. The plum on top is packaged separately and is flat in the bottom of the carton. It needed a little adjusting to get it centered on the helmet but that wasn't much work. It was in great shape. Assembly was easy. Good value for the price!

Exactly what I expected for the price. Well made, heavy, looks great. Super pleased. I could have spent much more, but I was not looking for museum quality. I guess if you wore this for a protracted event you might want something else, but for the display item I was looking for...this hit all of the marks!!! SUPER PLEASED. The horse hair plume looks great and was not bent or crooked. Additionally, the helmet arrived on time, and was packaged well. Great experience.

Ordered this Roman helmet two days ago and already received it! Excellent value! Looks stunning and is identical to the advertised item... I didn't need to post a new picture, as it was matching 100% the picture seen on Amazon.ca It fits great (I usually wear 7 1/2'' - 7 3/4'' size hats and helmets, and this one fits great).

Arrived with some oil/grease on the helmet, but it wiped off fairly easily. The helmet quality was better than I expected from this dealer, and I was impressed to find it was all metal and matched the picture quite well. Good product.

Superbement bien fait et de bonnes qualités

Nice workmanship some sharp edges, I found out the hard way, what ever they stayed inside the helmet stank horribly for a while and had to air it outside for a week, or arrived with rust on it and had to remove it. Other than that it's a nice prop.
