One piece is about 22" (55.88 cm) long. You get 2 pieces in the Speed Kit.

Curious if the Anki track have some tech built in? Just by looking at them I can't understand why they're so expensive.

Looking at the track in infrared makes it pretty clear how the car works: It's glorified line following with patterns of dashes (varying width and darkness) alongside the line to help the car identify its lateral position on the track.

yes the cars from anki drive are usable on the overdrive version. but after firmware updates.
