Easy to clean, works for my ratties
I have my rat cage lined with puppy pads, and I placed these mats on top. My rats love to sleep on and chew on them. In fact, they prefer the mats over their previous bedding, which was pieces of soft shredded up blanket. They used to love it but now they drag it out of their house and just sleep on the mats. Once a week when I do a thorough clean, I spray a *very* diluted apple cider vinegar/water solution on the mats, do a quick wipe down with a sponge, and then rinse them thoroughly with hot water in the tub. It takes me about 5 minutes, and they air dry within an hour, or just a few minutes if I use a blow dryer. However now that they are potty trained I find that I just have to rinse with hot water, and only ocassionaly use the vinegar mixture. It takes them about an hour to air dry and I throw them back in the cage. They do tear the mats up, but I have had them for 3 weeks now and they are still in tact. I recon it depends on your rats whether or not they will last.
