Can this be used for towing broke down vehicles a good distance? If not what would be a good strap to do so? (20ft is to long)

If you want to ruin an expensive strap dragging it down the road. AAA membership or a tow truck might be cheaper

The straps are rated at 12,000kg so 2 x = 24,000 kgs - if you are lifting less should be ok.
