These bookends are made in China.

Q: May I hang the hands on the wall?

No, these hands have no way of hanging to the wall. They are meant to be used as book ends.

Q: Do these use lead based paint? I got a similar pair from somewhere else that had a lead warning on it and I am looking to replace them.

The reason for the warning is California's Proposition 65 or Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, by which we must label items where there is lead on the paint used. Unless you ingest the paint used in the manufacture of this product there is really no risk of cancer, but California Law requires us to label it.
