Quality? 1000%. Worth it? Eh.
Ok so this is the best, fastest reading, most accurate, least annoying scale I’ve ever had. So In a sense yes it’s worth it just based off of that. However, in my opinion, the only standout features are the height adjusting wheels combined with the bubble level so you can basically have the scale perfectly level on any surface. This is great. $700 great? Eh. My favorite feature personally is the travel lock. Whenever the scale is not in use you’re able lock the scale with a knob underneath the weighing platform. This prevents the scale from being jumbled around and messing up the calibration during travel or god forbid a drop or something heavy being placed on top. These scales are definitely built to last and are amazingly accurate. I think the definition of “worth it” is going to be very subjective on a product like this. It really depends on what it’s intended purpose is. I might’ve spent way to much on a scale I didn’t need, but hey, I can tell you in a lab environment or something I can see the dramatically increased practicality of this product.

Works Perfectly
I'm not an expert, but I've used this scale five times a week, or more, for several weeks, and it seems to perform perfectly to the hundredth of a gram. Takes a while to balance (I used a level, in addition to the built-in bubble), but the scale is easy to use. And you can add teensy increments until you reach the desired weight for an item. I spent more than I planned, and I got more than I expected.

Better/more features than I expected
I'm used to using an old-style Ohaus triple beam balance, which requires some math capability to accurately make measurements since there is no tare function. I ordered this balance despite my dislike for them - they automatically turn off at the most in-opportune times, and the accuracy on most is questionable because readings can wander a bit. This scale has none of those problems and it has better resolution than the old triple beam balance. I have used it a few times and the only thing that I don't like is the bubble level. They tried to make it a convenience by embedding it into the product, but the bubble is really too small and insensitive to properly level the unit. I would recommend using a torpedo level instead. Beyond that, this can do parts counting and measure in more kinds of units than I have ever had on any of my scales. One thing that is impressive is that the reading doesn't wander once it has been zeroed. I thought the 10mg resolution might be an issue, but so far it has been rock solid. Out of the box my unit had the auto-off feature disabled, so that was also good - I don't really care much if I have to replace the batteries. Another nice feature is the backlight which turns on any time the reading is changing. It only turns off if the reading has been static for some number of seconds.I haven't yet put my calibration masses on it, so I can't say much about accuracy just yet. Will update the review later on that subject.

Good scale just not accurate as hoped for grains
Received the product on time and in good shape. Initially, i liked the product. Great display. Nice features. Ability to measure objects on the bottom of the unit by hanging weight. Instructions were simple and calibration was a snap. Individual feet where able to level the scale. Wide steel measuring surface. But, the accuracy of the scale in the grains (grns) scale was not very sensitive, and i wasn't confident in its readings. I use two other scales i have to compare measurements and they seemed to be more responsive when adding very tiny increments of measured material. The scale is accurate to .001 of a gram. I thought that would be good enough for my application, but it was mistaken. Called up Ohaus spoke to customer service (answered very quickly and a human, big plus in my book). After a few minutes of being on hold for him to get me an answer, he returned and stated thatif i wanted to achieve better accuracy an responsiveness i should seek a scale with a .0001 gram accuracy, he recommended their Pioneer model SPX163, which unfortunately was almost double the price of this unit. I don't think he was trying to up sell me, because when i looked at the specs of one of my other scales it was .0005 gram accuracy. I think this is a good unit, just not accurate enough for my needs. I did not test any other units of measurement just what i needed it for, grains. I will be returning this unit. But good customer support.

You get what you pay for and paying for this was worth it
Don't go with the Chineseum scales on Amazon for around $100. They drift to the point of being unusable. While in recent years, a bunch of items from blatantly Chinese companies have improved in quality, scales are not one of them. Go with the name you recognize in Ohaus (that sounds cheesy but it's true). This scale is 5x the price but it works perfectly. Fast response time, accurate and a nice display/panel.
