Light weight with compact design yet sturdy enough for full frame camera equipped with small to medium lenses. I wouldn’t put a heavy telescope lens on camera when using this tripod. The brand holds its long reputation once again, for the price, it’s as great as you can get.

Compared to the cheap tripods I put up with in the past, this is a massive upgrade. The tripod is solid, mostly metal, though still fairly light. The video head is fantastic, panning and tilting is smooth and you can control each individually, and you can quickly level it. It also collapses down to be very short, easily fits into medium sized backpacks. The case is also a nice touch, it seems good quality. The M-lock feature is a great timesaver, the legs will automatically snap into 3 positions, allowing you to set up quickly. One nice feature I didn't know about till it arrived is the mount on the side. You can connect a magic arm and mount accessories to your tripod such as a monitor or audio recorder. Very handy! So far I have no problems with it as someone who does a lot of run and gun work and needs reliable, light gear. Highly recommend, go for it if you're on the fence!

Purchased this tripod for use with my canon m50. Outstanding quality and exceptionally smooth operation. This unit is incredibly stable even when fully extended- with minimal wobble or twist. The entire package expands, adjusts, sets-up and operates extremely efficiently due to the how it's features have been optimized. It feels like the unit just does what you need it to do - with less fiddling around then your average budget model.The light-weight of the unit is achieved by utilizing minimalistic framework and materials such as plastic and aluminium throughout. I wouldn't recommend mounting a slider to this QR plate by itself as the centre mast DOES seem to flex an observable amount even when using a mirrorless camera and small lightweight slider. It's just too much leverage. There would be no issue using this tripod in tandem with another unit to support a large slider from each end.The fluid-head IS removable and uses the standard larger 3/8-16 UNC thread used with most equipment. This opens-up mounting options, allowing you to use different heads or use the head on other things. The hook in the base of the mast is also removable and made of high strength plastic. This is also threaded for 3/8-16 UNC and they supply two of these hooks in the box. The QR plate comes with a SLOTTED thumbscrew for the mounting - remember to bring that coin with you - but at least its a knurled! *Note there is a new version of this model with a button latch to release the legs that allows adjustment for 3 positions instead of 2 - but I actually like the twisty thing.Ultimately this is the best little tripod I've ever owned - and the best value you're going to find at this price-point until you jump up in cost.Happy to answer questions if you have any.

After extensive research looking for a video fluid head/tripod combination that is suitable for daily use as well as travel and treking, I purchased this Manfrotto kit. I have 4 other tripods, with various heads including pistol grips, heavy duty to very light weight. Also 3 monopods. But I have become increasingly unhappy with taking quality video and stills that can be submitted to the 2 stock agencies I work with. Jerky motion during panning and tilting for wildlife and sharpness of image from camera movement at 600mm telephoto have ruined many great moments and images. I am using the Sony RX10 lll so not a heavy camera but great compact long fast telephoto. With the camera mounted on the new Manfrotto system, the panning and tilting is super smooth and easy, set up and balancing is very quick. I especially like the level bubble and ability to adjust the head without having to change the legs. Entire system is very light, well built and feels good. There is much plastic in the screw handles, legs and head but feels well made especially for the package price. I have not found any panning or tilting issues as mentioned in other reviews but again my camera system is only 2.5 ibs total, and works really well with this light weight head. Very pleased buyer, and can strongly recommend this set up if you are looking for a lightweight system for travel where you want smooth video as well as a stable platform for stills. Forgot to mention the quick release plate locks in great, has safety latch at rear end and safety stop on front end to keep the camera from falling off.
