Was skeptical
I was unsure at first seeing as i’m a size 13, but they fit quite well, and do what its intended to do. Make sure you wear something with ankle support if you’re working near trees, the roots might make balance hard.

So easy to use
Used them last weekend and was able to walk around my yard with no problems they were easy to put on and stayed on. Really like them. When putting them on I put them into the grass and then buckled them on made it supper easy.

You will survive after this!
If you are going to be an " Ordinary Joe" Don't buy this!!! Now if you are going to MAN UP and wear some boots for stability so your little weak ankles don't give out then you should be just fine. You can even WOMAN UP!!! I've seen woman that do a better job then you men complaining!"My issue is with the "usage" of it. When you wear it and walk over your lawn, you might find that it is not as easy to do it as you "might have imagined". And that is the real problem!"No... it works just like the photo. (see my video)- video was taken to make fun of me. by my daughter - FYI That could happen to you as well. It's super easy to put on, and when you walk on the grass it's also fairly easy. Just make sure you walk like you are stomping out the fire of your burning heart. But slower."Because the soil of most lawns are not perfectly "even" - after all home lawns are not golf courses - you might encounter great difficulty walking on it. On several occasions my "feet twisted" badly to one side. I am not going to risk it anymore because it is dangerous. I am glad that I came out unhurt but some might sprain their feet badly."Seriously? It's no more dangerous that riding your 10 speed down the street. And yes I hit a parked car once. So, just be careful."If anyone were to use it, I will suggest that you put each foot down "slowly" and "firmly", taking care that you don't accidentally twist your feet to the side. If you can do that, then it might do the job. Also, do not try to walk over driveways or any type of concrete pathways. You should wear them on the soft lawn and after usage you have to take them off on the lawn itself. All this is not that convenient but if you can manage to do it, you might not find it too bad."These shoes WILL DO THE JOB! But If you find it inconvenient to put these spike Lawn Aerator Shoes on, then just hire someone buddy. This ain't your cup of tea. But if you're ready for the “challenge” Just make sure you're smart about it and wear boots that keep your ankles supported. If you don't have boots wear your Jordan high-tops from high school and lace them up nice and tight, that should work."I purchased it late April but today is the first day I tried it out. I won't use it again."Don't be an idiot! Be prepared before you put these bad boys on! First thing you do is go buy beer. If you have weak ankles maybe invite your strong ankled friend over for a beer or 2, and then ask him to put them on. #spikesarentforeveryoneGood Luck.

Does good for what it does. Quite satisfied
These aerator shoes meet all my expectations. They punch small holes in the dirt. That's about it. They will not replace a mechanical aerator if your soil is heavy - such as clay. Mine is sandy and the spikes make nice small holes to allow nutrients and water to get in more easily. I have noticed that where I have thin grass and spend additional time in those areas, the grass is spreading more quickly into the areas. Just what I wanted. Don't expect the results of an annual aeration costing $100+, but you should see decent results of your efforts. I have gone over my yard (4000 sq ft) twice. The first time I covered all of it. Not just walking, but taking small steps and covering all areas pretty thoroughly. The second time, a month later, I just hit the areas that had thin grass spots. I am seeing improvements. They take a little getting used to, but if you have reasonable balance, you can walk in them without too much trouble. Not like a simple stroll, but paying attention, you can get it done. They are a bit tricky, but very usable. Pick your feet up and down straight, don't be sloppy. The spikes will catch if you don't pay attention and your balance will be tested. The first couple minutes where "interesting", but after that I got in the groove and things went smoothly.Negative articles on these type of shoes say they really don't aerate well. Probably true with heavy soils that are compacted. These will not replace the coring process if that's really needed, but with looser soil, they can make a difference. I would buy again, but probably won't have to as these seem to be well made. The straps with velcro seem to hold well if kept tight. If they loosen a bit, be sure to readjust or your balance will definitely be affected.

Like Roller Skating! MUST HAVE GOOD BALANCE!!
First off- don’t even bother trying these without at least closed toe tennis shoes or boots! I thought I could quickly test them out w my flip flops on & that was a disaster!Second- if you have problems with balance, you may want to do what I had to do and only use ONE spiked shoe, so you can use your other leg to balance. It’s so much easier this way, as I kept falling down with both on! It’s kinda like roller skating! Also, these things give your legs a major workout, so be prepared to be sore the next day or so!!
