Nice book about project management

Excellent resource for anyone interested in pursuing project management or just fulfilling MBA prerequisite. This was an elective. The course was extremely intense with many deliverables. Larson & Gray lay it all out in understandable language. There isn’t a better resource. The PMBOK will not make sense all by itself. This book will help.

Good book with lots of information. It's easy to read [for a textbook] and explains the topics pretty well. However, the material does get dragged out and is pretty dry. The rental price is pretty much the same as buying it used. I got it used and the book was in fairly good condition. It comes with a CD for a 60 day trial of Microsoft Project Professional 2010. It's not the best book in the world, but it serves it's purpose.

As others have stated, this is a good overview for a survey level course in PM. It is repetitive, but I think that is understandable in a survey course textbook of this nature. I agree that the scenarios are a little out of date; for the cost of the sixth edition, these could have been updated. It is certainly easy to understand, but I wouldn't have pegged this as a graduate level text. If you don't need this as a requirement for a course, I wouldn't buy this as a self-study guide. It's far too expensive for an overview. As far as readability, it's an easy read for an introductory level course.

The book is good but I made a mistake on my order, I gave 5 starts to the seller though because he was able to deal with it in a very professional way and solved my problem. Very happy and satisfied. The book also shipped fast!!

So as far as school books go this one was OK, a little blaw but informative. If you are a cash strapped student like I am DONT try to trade this one in to this store.....Nothing but issues and denials for reasons like wrong ISBN (ummmm I sent the exact same book back that I bought.) My personal favorite denial (the second one) is not all volumes were included?!?!? (again, ummmm, I bought one book and I sent that one book back in) C'mon guys!!! Used to love to shop here but man you make it hard on students....

I bought a used one, but it looks like new and the good thing is the CD worked and I installed Ms Project into my PC. I have received the the Text on-time and it didn't take too long.

This book was listed as recommended reading in our project management class (engineering undergrad), but not mandatory. I thought it was sufficiently good that it basically replaced the class notes which covered only a small portion of the book's subject matter. I found it to be well written and concise. I even found myself reading extra chapters out of personal interest.

For a text book and required reading I would actually pick this book up and read it!!! it's so well written and written in a way that it's relevant and not "preachy" the case studies are great and interesting. The quizes and questions with answers is a great self learn item.I will keep this book in my library for years to come
