Don't know
Tried using this and did not work for me. The ants just walked over it and did not care. It is also messie so not recommending it to anyone. My purpose was small ants.

Not effective
I used this product indoors because it's safe non chemical, however it did nothing to the cockroaches just a messy kitchen with active roaches!

It’s especially good for ants and other small crawling insects after applying it in problem areas, I noticed a clear reduction within a couple of days. What I like most is that it’s a dry, natural powder, so there’s no strong chemical smell or messy spraying involved. It’s easy to apply in cracks, along baseboards, or around pots, and it stays in place pretty well as long as the area stays dry. It does take a little patience since it’s not an instant kill, but it works consistently over time. Overall, a great option if you want a more natural and low-odor way to control insects around your home or garden.

I've been battling ants and roaches creeping into our kitchen and garage, and the Garden Safe Crawling Insect Killer has been a game changer. This diatomaceous earth (DE) formula delivers reliable pest control without harsh chemicals, a great relief for a home with kids and pets. 🛡️ What I Love: Natural and non‑toxic: Made of food-grade diatomaceous earth, it’s safe around the house yet deadly to pests by dehydrating them on contact. Versatile use: I sprinkled it along baseboards indoors and around garden beds and patio cracks outside—completely eliminated the ant trails and roach sightings. Mess-free packaging: Comes in a handy shaker-style tub—no clumps, no fuss. Just a light dusting goes a long way. Long-lasting action: The powder stays effective even after light rain outdoors and didn’t need frequent reapplications. ⚠️ What to Keep in Mind: Use a mask: The powder is fine and dusty—wear a face mask or apply it gently to minimize airborne particles. Keep dry for best results: DE works only when dry, so if an area gets wet, reapply after it dries. ✅ Final Thoughts For anyone looking for a safe, economical, and eco-friendly solution to control crawling insects, this product is a standout. One 4-pound tub has lasted me through multiple seasons and will probably last through the next. It does exactly what it claims—no chemicals, no fuss, just quiet, effective pest protection. Highly recommend this for campers, gardeners, renters—you name it!

Usually the front yard is treated with insecticide, which is what I believe relocated or “herded” the ants into the vegetable enclosure. Who knew? It was recommended that I use Diatomaceous Earth as a perimeter barrier and also apply directly to any ant nests that have started to come up through the barrier cloth in the enclosure. I’ve never used Diatomaceous earth (DE) before, so at least now I’ll know first hand what all the hype is about and if it works. By the way, there are different “flavors” of DE and some are not for human consumption or even your yard. This one is of horticulture grade for both yard and bugs. It’s a super fine powder (like baby powder, but not as heavy as flour) that is off white in color. The powder is made up of crushed, sharp fossilized remains of algae and diatoms making it a chemical and synthetic free pest treatment. For “soft bodied” insects (like ants), any contact with the powder is akin to walking on broken glass that kills them. The DE comes in a decent size bag at a whopping 4 pounds that’s guaranteed to cover a lot of real estate and can be liberally applied to your yard without worry of running out. It does not smell, and it does not stain. Applicator is not included. For the applicator, I usually keep on hand a couple of old Kinder’s BBQ Sauce bottles. They are easy to clean, labels peel straight off without resistance, they have a wide neck for filling and is easy to squeeze as a sprayer. -You could also use a cheap turkey baster. For my problem, I simply sprinkled DE around the areas where the ants live and around each vegetable pot to take care of earwigs, beetles, tomato hornworms and army worms. As far as ants hills go, this is not an instant kill or kill on contact solution like Raid, so be patient. It took a little over 2 days and another dose of DE to completely rid the enclosure of ants. They are now permanently gone and have not moved back into the front yard. By the way, watch out for the wind when applying. Areas with flowering plants that usually have pollinators or attract bees, lady bugs, butterflies etc. need to be avoided as DE does not differentiate between good beneficial insects and bad ones. Since they are also soft bodied, this stuff will kill them. Just saying. Hopefully the ants have moved on to the back lot & I’m fine with that. This has worked for my ant and earwig problem. As for the tomato horn worm and army worms, they still take less time to identify and kill manually. There’s a lot of bang for your buck with this bag, and as gardeners we should be thankful for both the quantity and price. It’s a fantastic deal when compared to other brands. P.S. I did read somewhere that for hard to reach spots on plants, you can actually mix 4 tablespoons DE to 1 gallon of water to spray directly on your leaves. Anyway, as a pest control treatment, this is very effective for ants and earwigs. I can’t speak on other bugs yet since not a problem at this time. The volume and quality for the price point is a steal! Go for it 5 stars!

This product does exactly what it says it will do. It is great at limiting the amount of fungus gnats in your soil and has proven to be good quality. This bag will last you a lifetime if using on indoor plants. It has the consistently of powdered sugar so be cautious when opening the bag. Overall great value and gets the job done when used correctly and consistently. There is zero smell from this product.

I have to take the time to stop and write this review because I am so impressed with this powder. We moved into this home 3 years ago so this is our third spring season here. The home was not well maintained for well over 20 years so there was a massive earwig infestation not to mention black widow spiders in the basement and a yard full of tree spiders and ants that felt like they were pretty free to come on in the house and chill with us. We weren't okay with that and after 2 years of dealing with earwigs getting into the bathtubs, crawling through our window seals and getting in the bed and pinching us at night, getting into our food (we don't have cockroaches but we are comparing them to cockroaches because they are just as big of a pest and they can pinch the crap out of you 😠) I did some research and came up with this product. I read mixed reviews and decided I needed to just try it. I live in the south where the earwigs come out in March and by the 1st of April there are thousands of them everywhere. The house has an oversized eave around it so I was able to liberally apply a lot of this powder all the way around the house and it didn't get rained on. I also put a very thick coating around the inside of the carport where pests come from the flower beds under the carport walls and straight into the back door. Basically I coated every square inch and every crack that I could see. Then I went in to tackle the basement. The black widows live in the humidity and thrive down there. So I went into every dark corner and basically just tossed it everywhere. Mind you, I was wearing a mask and I recommend that. We don't have much sitting in the basement because of the widows but the few things down there did get powder all over it. Then I stood on a ladder and pressed powder all around every single air duct vent that comes into the house from the basement. Then I really went crazy and started throwing it into the rafters and insulation because I know there are spiders in there; webs are everywhere. And the results are? I've only seen one earwig this entire spring season (and our spring season starts in February haha). Usually by this time of year my husband has killed many half dollar sized spiders in the carport. Currently we've seen none. I have flower beds all along the front of the house. Usually when I go out there to mess around in my garden, earwigs go everywhere. So do beetles. Not anymore. After applying everywhere I waited a few days and went back around the perimeter of the house and looked for dead bugs. There were so many dead beetles I couldn't believe it. I didn't even know there were so many beetles trying to get in. And I haven't seen any more black widow spiders although I know there are still a few lurking they are not as brave as they were. Oh and the front porch! There's a huge pin oak tree near the front porch thats roots have raised the front porch two inches away from the house. The landlord refuses to take the tree down and that's besides the point but the crack creates a wonderful loving home for carpenter ants and more earwigs. I filled that entire crack with this powder and I haven't seen one ant. Not one. And because of the big eaves around the house and the fact that the rain can't get to it the powder just sat there for weeks killing most everything and protecting us from having to do it. Now I pressure washed all the windows/eaves/walls and all the powder got rinsed away so I've reordered and plan to reapply as often as needed. In my case I would say that's probably going to be about once a month. Also noteworthy is that I sprinkled it all through the flower beds and all of my plants are still fine. I highly highly recommend this product!
