Couldn't be more happy with this waterproof mp3 player
Couldn't be more happy with this waterproof mp3 player. Have used them doing my lap swimming in the local pool, averaging over 2000m each time roughly one and half to two hours in the water. Firstly make sure you use the correct ear buds, there are two sets designed for when you are in water. I use the larger ones and they fit perfectly in the ear and are very comfortable. The wishbone part of the mp3 sits behind your head like a reverse pair of sunglasses, quite a tight fit but it molds to your head and once you are swimming you forget they are there. Sound wise I have found the audio quality excellent, the volume level is perfect with no sound distortion even doing a fairly fast crawl in a busy pool. The actual mp3 player pops out of the wishbone and plugs straight into a standard USB port. Simply drag and drop the tracks you require and you are good to go, don't forget if you are transferring from itunes you will need to convert the tracks to mp3 format for them to work with this player. There are some comments about the headphone leads, and whilst they are quite thin, you just need to take care when handling the player, I keep them in the box they arrived in when packing them in my sports bag and that keeps them nice and safe. Overall, couldn't recommend them any higher especially for the price paid.

Not a bad first step into listening to music whilst swimming,
I regularly swim 2-3 times a week, often for more than an hour at a time. I've been looking into buying a waterproof MP3 player for a while and after reading reviews opted for this model as I didn't want to spend too much first time out.Delivery was prompt which was good. It's really easy to load music, basically cut and paste, although you do have to put the main host the right way up into the PC otherwise it wont be recognised. My only real gripe at this stage is that although the manual mentions two pairs of swimming buds I only received the one pair already attached to the headset. The three pairs of normal use buds were included although I've not used them yet.Sound quality in the pool is OK, although if I push off too quick the buds sometimes "move" which can distort things. I usually find a bit of jiggling eventually gets them to sit right. It would have been nice to see if the other size for water use were a better fit, hence knocking a star off the review. For the money paid I'm happy so far and have found that with music the swim sessions slide by.Edit: I queried the "missing" swimming bud with the Supplier. Apparently they stopped packing the original waterproof buds because some people were reporting them coming off and getting stuck. They did send me a full set of buds though, including the original waterproof ones, which I'm really happy about. I seemed to have mastered the knack of getting the ear-shaped buds to stay in as well.

Fantastic motivation in the pool
I have been using mp3 players whilst swimming for over 7 years now and, after trying a couple of other devices have found this set to be far superior for sound quality and comfort in use. Playing music makes my time in the pool into a whole different experience, especially since my main stroke is front crawl so I am not able to chat with a friend whilst swimming as a lot of other folks do! I make play lists on my pc then download to the mp3 player. I vary playlists between fast and slow songs so that I can speed up a bit then relax in between for a couple of lengths and this works well for me (I am 65 so not able to maintain fast speed all the time!) and I also enjoy treading water and "dancing" to music in the deep end of the pool to make my sessions more varied. These players do not last for ever - in my experience about 2 to 3 years with 2 to 3 swim sessions a week if you dry it carefully and store in a dry place (I use a plastic tub with tissue liner) but anyway they are not very expensive, compared to swim pool membership at the same cost each month for example!

Fantastic solution for swimming with music
Rating & Review based on 4 weeks of use to date.I bought and use this exclusively to use to listen to mp3 music whilst swimming. To date I have used this for 6 swims in a pool lasting 90 minutes each. Based on this use the headlines are -# Transferring music onto the player from a PC using the supplied cable is quick and simpleThe player appears as an external device ready to drag and drop mp3 files to. Given the relatively small capacity I have not tried using folders and have simply placed music files directly.# Swimming earbuds stay in placeMy package only has one pair of swimming buds instead of the two indicated within the manual. The seller has responded swiftly to my enquiry by sending out a second pair. The pair I do have are very effective. They stay in place in the water during breaststroke, crawl and twist turns# Sound quality is surprisingly goodFor the pleasure of music during exercise the sound quality is fantastic. There is little to no difference between sound under and above water nor is there any 'break' whilst moving between the two, for example during breaststroke. With the swimbuds securely in place audio is clear and audible continuously whilst swimming# Controls are simple and effectiveFor simple play & pause & volume the integrated controls are easily operated even whilst swimming or quickly standing in the pool. It helps that the buttons are large and located away from each other, avoiding confusion over which are which.I am recharging after each swim session so have not tried the battery life beyond 90 minutes. I am also using a suggestion found for another similar product to apply an anti-limescale, calcium & rust solution to the USB interconnect. This *might* help extend the life of the product from the corrosive effects of repeated soaks.

Infected with a virus!
This arrived quickly & I was excited to get music on it & get swimming along to my favourite tunes. I stuck the MP3 into my computer ready to transfer music... I feel so fortunate I've got a good virus checker. It auto-scanned the drive as soon as I put it in & immediately found it was infected with a Trojan virus! This is a brand new item, I genuinely don't understand how it could possibly be infected with a virus from new if it wasn't intended to infect unsuspecting recipients? I feel pretty horrified at how unwittingly vulnerable my personal information was. Funnily enough, I don't want a replacement - sending it back for refund.
