Mobicoach and Swingtip, Awesome
I purchased the swingtip a few weeks ago and it has all of my friends running out and buying one. I am in the technology industry and there are not many products that impress me like this one.I took it out to the range and happened to bump into one of my colleagues. I gave him my club and had him take a swing, he instantly had a visual on what his swing plane and speed looked like. He ordered one the next morning! For the price, this product cannot be beat.I took advantage of the free 15 minute mobicoach session that was / is being offered and tacked on an additional 15 minutes. I live in the midwest and the snow and cold has been persistent making it hard to get out to the course. I setup in my garage because of the snow outside (in April!!!!) and had a lesson with Kate Hughes a former LPGA tour player. So, now I am in the midwest, snow is on the ground, I am in my garage, and getting top notch training from a former LPGA tour player. Kate had me setup, initiated a few video captures and within minutes dialed in on my swing. The whiteboard features of the mobicoach are awesome. The mobicoach sessions are like getting a golf lesson and a video swing analysis all in one. At my club they charge 80 dollars just for a swing analysis, plus a lesson is another charge on top of that.I would recommend 30 minutes for your first lesson. The next time I book a lesson, it will be 15 minutes to touch up on what Kate has suggested I work on. I will hit the range once the I see the grass again. For the price I highly recommend both the swingtip and the mobicoach session. For my session I did it without the swingtip because I was more concerned with the video analysis and getting my setup solid. I will concentrate on the other aspects of my swing during another session. One other thing I LOVE is the video capture of the swingtip app. The first day I got it, I strapped the device on my 7 iron and hit the range. The device controls the recording of your swing from your phone only when you swing. No more running over to a camera and starting and stopping it to get one swing recorded. I took about 30 videos of my swing and setup without having to mess with my phone. I reviewed the videos at home and noticed my swing setup was terrible, so I booked the lesson with Kate to fix it.P.S. I would recommend using a bluetooth headset for the mobicoach session.

Such a disappointment
I buy far too much from Amazon, many items I've still never opened or used. But I never felt compelled to write a review before. I also own the Swingbyte, which is a decent device that could have benefited from a better mechanism to attach to the club itself. I bought the SwingTIP because of the low cost (it's all relative) and as a new toy to play with until the SkyGolf device is released in April. There is an ever growing number of these devices sprouting up, but most probably came to market too soon. With the SwingTIP being released more recently (I think), I had hoped for a more mature product.I may have either a defective device, or perhaps they didn't spend much time setting this up for lefties, but the swing plane this device reports is absurd (for me at least). The best way I can describe it is egg-shaped on the target view (down the line). The other two views are more circular, but regardless each view shows my swing encompassing about 340 degrees. And keep in mind this does not include after impact, since this isn't recorded at all (much like the Swingbyte). To put it differently, it shows my backswing so far past parallel that I nearly hit the ball on the backswing. I'm not a long drive champ, I can't physically swing back that far, and the down the line egg-shaped swing path is even more impossible. It shows the club making contact with the ground, four feet in front of my body, on the backswing. The other reported parameters might be reasonably accurate, but who cares when the swing path is comically inaccurate?Update: I've added an image of the problem that I have with the device. This happens swing after swing, except when the device inexplicably thinks I am right-handed for a single swing, but i still get nonsense results for the path. Obviously, this doesn't occur with each customer, but whatever the potential of this device, this particular unit is worthless to me.

Software is great, unfortunate design flaw
I was very excited about using this (I love analytical things) and being able to dissect my golf swing sounded great! The product looks very nice and is very lightweight, didn't notice it on the club at all. The analysis is actually very helpful and it's fun to see what your swing looks like. However there is an unfortunate design flaw that was enough to return it after my FIRST USE! The bracket that is used to mount the SwingTIP to the club is way too small. It barely fit around my Callaway irons and I noticed visible stretching of the plastic when I clamped it down. When I tried to put it on my Driver, it stretched so much that it almost broke. I moved it down the shaft of the club almost 4 inches, but then it didn't track my swing correctly.I can't be the only golfer who has had this problem...Bottom line, if you have clubs with a thin shaft, then definitely go ahead with your purchase. Like I said, the software is great! Otherwise, look for something else. Sadly, I won't be getting any more tips from the SwingTIP.
