Looks beautiful but has an Aluminum lid in contact with food
The intention of buying a ceramic pot rice cooker (over one with non stick coating) is health. However, in this model the lid that is in direct contact above the rice is made of Aluminum, not stainless steel. Raw aluminum should never be in direct contact with food, that lid should be stainless steel. Having food in direct contact with Aluminum is unhealthy and counteracts any potential benefit of having a ceramic pot.

My Honest Opinion: its a love hate relationship.
We are BIG rice eaters around here. After my 2 well loved Zojirushi rice cooker bowls started to peel and bubble, I knew it was finally time to look for a new rice cooker. I wanted a non-toxic rice cooker without a "non-stick" bowl.My favorite brand (Zojirushi) does not sell a clay pot rice cooker that I could find. For the price, and the reviews I took the plunge on this one. I wanted to LOVE it, and I do for the most part. Its easy to use. Its Non-toxic ceramic/clay pot offers rice its purest flavor. Its easy very to clean. Love settings and the variety of grains it cooks. It looks nice on my counter and has a great carry handle if I want to tote it to a party or potluck dinner. The BIGGEST disappointment for me is the warming timer. My old Zojirushi rice cookers had a keep warm setting that allowed ME to be in control of how long I keep my rice around. It kept our rice warm for as long as we wanted it to. I could keep rice going for 2 days. We would have it for dinner, and then again for breakfast, and then for dinner again. This warmer makes NO SENSE TO ME! I cook a pot of rice at about 6 pm for our dinner. It gets done around 6:20pm and automatically switches to the keep warm setting. BUT, it only has an 8 HOUR TIMER!!?? We get up in the morning to cold rice, because it shuts off in the middle of the night, at about 2:30am! At least a 12 hour timer would have made a little more sense, but 8?? That is just stupid!I have tried every which way to override this timer, but its just not possible. If you want to wake up to warm, leftover rice from dinner, you are just out of luck, unless you shut it off before you go to bed, and turn it back on with the reheat/keep warm setting, but don't sleep more than the 8 hours, or again, your stuck with COLD RICE for breakfast. I suppose you could hit the reheat button in the morning, but then, you have to wait for it to warm, and this takes some time, and the bottom of the rice gets hard and over cooked from reheating it over and over.I am surprised that the designers, who live in a Country where rice is the staple, would make a rice cooker with a warm setting that shuts off after only 8 hours. It just makes no sense to me.Frustrating! They have such a great rice cooker here with a clay pot, but the fact that the warm setting is made this way almost ruins it for me.IMHO, If the warmer is not a big selling feature for you, and you only make rice for one meal at a time, you are going to LOVE this rice cooker. Don't hesitate to buy it.OH, and I read a few complaints about the lid not popping open when they push the button. I have no problem with that. I Push the button, it pops right open. I can see though, that if one doesn't keep it clean and starches build up from the steam, maybe that might cause some stick in the lid. Keep it clean, no problems.

Makes good rice but quality in two areas is so-so
The rice cooker makes good rice. My main concern is the two rubber washers in the steam lid are fragile and may need replacing if they tear. They are the weakest part of the design but if they fail they rice cooker will not work correctly. So my question to the manufacturer is whether I can buy extra rubber washer parts for the steam lid? If they provide extra parts then you may enjoy a long useful life for the product. The timer lacks a display for remaining cook time until just six minutes are left when if finally appears and let’s you know. Weird. You can set the timer to cook but the display won’t tell you how much time you have left until it is done. So you better set you own timer on your phone.

Few things not in the descriptions
We are big rice consuming family and make rice every day from brown rice to all Different grains. We have a Zojirushi rice cooker. And we loved it until it’s inner pot (titanium) starts to peel. I could not find any Zojirushi rice cooker without non sticker layers. even the Titanium ones are not trustable to be safe and healthy ( they say titanium are) but who knows...I was happy I found this ceramic inner pot. It’s good size for our family, looks good (not bulky) and easy to clean. There are few important things they definitely need to improve or change. 1, the lid is aluminum. I am not going to use aluminum that has contact with food daily to risk the health. The whole point of ceramic pot is being healthy. Aluminum has the risk of leaking into the food has potential problems. Also it make it feels cheep compared to Zojirushi‘a very good quality of stainless steel. Zojirushi I had is much more expensive but I rather pay more for the health. Plus it will last as least 10 years of usage.2, the cooking time does not show on the display. It’s very confusing and not convenient. You don’t know how long you have to wait or prepare ahead of time to coon your rice.3, I thought I will love the function of soup making and slow cook the soup or stew. But the soup setting only goes to 3 hours maximum in the hour setting and minutes setting has 55 maximum.4, you really need to know is that the grain function can cook up to 3 hours. And we don’t know each time how long it will cook. One time we were cooking brown rice and just waiting and waiting... and after 2 hours it’s still not done. Really 3 hours cooking brown rice? Or should we cook brown rice in the normal rice function? The manual is not detailed about cooking time the each function. So all these adding together we have to choose a different rice cooker even though I love the inner ceramic pot.

Don’t buy his rice cooker!
This is a horrible rice cooker. I bought it because I needed a ceramic rice cooker for health reasons. Don’t follow their directions - has too much water. Tried my directions for my old rice cooker - still to much water - tried less water and rice is soggy- toner is terrible - does not show time until done and on warm.
