6/2019Before my camping trip, I had carefully reviewed onhow to pack my gears while in the bag as recommanded. The "Military Quality" material is definitely not even 1% waterproof. While traveling I-5 between Cali and Oregon thinking my gear was dry and safe, unbeknownst to me all my camping gear ( Sleeping bags and pillows) were all soaked. This ended up costing me an expensive night in a hotel and not being able to return the item because my first use was outside the return window. Otherwise this bag appears to be made of good quality, (though not military grade) materials. But it is definitely not waterproof and should not be advertised nor sold as such.Updated review 2/22/20I am updating this review to give this company's customer service to 5 stars. Owner of the company Danny R. had reached out to us and sent us a new RoofPax bag which had made improvement on the leaking issue (19cf RoofPax Rooftop Carrier 2020 improved and upgraded rooftop cargo carrier). Went to Oregon for offroad camping; went through snow, ice and storms, no leaks and all our items are safe and secure. Excellent product with excellent customer service.

I purchased this to move from Virginia to California. It fit perfectly on my 2017 VW Tiguan. I strapped it to my roof rack. After getting to my destination I unloaded the bag. Everything was either soaked or ruined. Upon further inspection of the bag I noticed holes where the straps were sewn onto the bag. This must have allowed water and snow to come in from the outside; this, getting everything wet inside the bag. It took me a week to drive cross-country and we hit snowstorms and heavy rainfall. Im sure if the weather was fine this would have worked perfectly; however, I purchased this thinking it would have withstand all weather elements. I prepared for months for the move and purchased this early. I wish I hadn't because I'm unsure if I can get a refund to cover the cost of everything that was ruined now.

I was looking for a quick and inexpensive way to carry camping stuff on a roof of our car. I made short research on internet and my choice fell on this car roof bag. Even though it’s not the cheapest option, I was very impressed by the quality of the materials, big size and easy and safe installation without passing straps inside the car, making the installation much more convenient and safe. My car does not have roof rails but that is not a problem at all because this bag is coming with 4 door hooks, which are easily connected directly to the car body.The bag itself is firm and very well made. It has heavy-duty zipper, which is completely covered by thick waterproof cover. The bottom of the bag is protected with a thick built-in mat to prevent accidental scratches to the roof.It took me just a few minutes to install this bag on my car. I was able to fit in all my camping equipment and it still had plenty of empty space inside. I strapped it firmly and made took it for test drive. There were no issues at all. I could barely feel that the bag is installed on the roof. Very quiet!It was also very easy to uninstall and to fold it up and moreover it does not need extra storage space.This car bag exceeded all my expectations. I am very happy with this purchase.
