When it came time to replace the worn out tires on my ol' mustang 50 zero trun mower, I picked up a set of Carlisle 13x5-6 straight rib tires. But little did I know these beefy boys weren't gonna go on without a fight!After wrestlin' for what felt like 40 days and 40 nights, I came to respect the tough, sturdy construction of these tires. My scrawny arms were no match tryin' to stretch these rubber stallions onto the rim. The thick tread and reinforced sidewalls had some mighty fine rigidity!Eventually I cried uncle and took my tires down to the shop. Those pros made quick work swappin' the tires out. Reckon I'm not the burly tire man I thought I was!While they were a beast to install, these Carlisle tires have treated my mower right ever since. They grip the grass nice on all types of terrain without leavin' bald tracks. The rigid tread means I won't be replacing them again anytime soon neither.So if you need brawny garden tires that'll stand the test of time, get yourself some Carlisles. Just make sure you've got your big boy pants on and a shop handy for backup! They'll put up a good fight, but it's worth the battle.

Lots of thorny bushed on my property. My tires were swiss cheeese with hole. Had 10 plugs in one. Finally gave in and bought two replacements. Glad I did. This is exactly the right one for my Cub Cadet RZTL.

I've purchased Carlisle tires for my lawn tractors several times before but for some reason this thing was extremely difficult to get on the front wheel of a John Deere Z 445. I've always been able to mount the tires using hand tools but I had to get my hands on a Harbor Freight mini tire mounting kit to get the tire mounted. Even with that thing it felt like the stretch on the bead of the tire would rip.

I want to follow up on another reviewer discussing putting tire on rim. I took my tire to local chain tire shop since I needed something else there and they simply said they couldn't do it because tire was too small! Another guy said no problem but come by tomorrow sometime. Meanwhile my yard needed to be mowed. So back to my garage I trudged.I am giving this 4 stars because the tire appears a little ragged on the inside edges. Maybe that is normal or maybe it was a return. Nevertheless, its on and I am getting ready to mow. If I have problems with tire I'll send it back.I want to emphasize using a small vise-grip on the rim at starting point of installing tire. One of the things I did to keep the tire in one place, was getting a 4 foot scrap 2x6 (can be any size) and drilled a hole through it for the axle bolt from my tire (the bolt or rod that goes through center of rim when on implement). Then I notched out for the hub (optional). This kept the tire in place on the floor of my garage. Then I soaped up the tire and rim. The first part of the tire will go on easily. The second sidewall requires a little bit of force and dexterity. Clip the small vise-grip onto rim at starting point. I used the smallest snub nose vise-grips I had (4 inch). If you don't have a pair of vise-grips use a small clamp. It will be 10x harder to install the tire foregoing this step. Wear tight gloves for greater grip and strength. Either spin the tire slowly as you work a small screwdriver or narrow prybar around edge of tire or move your body around the tire, with your bodyweight holding the inserted part of tire in place. You should be able to use contours on inside of rim for leverage to push tire onto rim. Sunshine and soap should make the tire pliable enough to slide on.It may take a few tries to get the tire moving into place. Unless you have a certain amount of strength and dexterity, you will not be able to do this by yourself.The alternate is to buy the same tire with a rim or check with your local tire place to make sure they can put it on for you if needed.

Exactly what I needed. I could not find them in stock locally. This tire is rated heavier than the originals, so hopefully will last better.

These tires came on my Cub Cadet RZT-S mower so when the tread was just about gone (at 3 yrs / 170 hours) I ordered a second set. About 6 months ago one of them began losing about have of it's pressure between mows so I always had to top-off the air before mowing to keep the mower level. I just performed a 100 hour service on the mower which included removing the front wheel assemblies I noticed that the tire that always loses air had a separation on the inside sidewall near the bead. I put some soapy water on the separation and sure enough it was slowly bubbling. Disappointing to have a tire with Carlisles repuation have a sidewall separation with no apparent damage to the tire, thus, the 4-stars. This time the tires lasted 4 years but the same 170 hours before the tread was worn out. I did order another set just to see if the separation was a fluke. We'll see...

I bought these tires to replace ones on a John Deere zero turn mower. I haven't had the chance to actually change them out but I know they'll work great. This is a good deal and they were delivered before the expected date.

Purchased for my rake. Was supposed to arrive as a set of two. Only one received. Squashed to the point that installation was nearly impossible. Poor quality. Unimpressed. Will never order again.
