Santa Barbara Olive Co. California Large Pitted Ripe Olives, 6 Ounce Tins (Pack of 12)

I absolutely love black olives, but since we've gone organic I had a difficult time finding any we could eat. These are delicious, although nothing like the ones we're used to buying at the store. They're more... buttery? Creamy? Maybe it's best to say what they aren't: they aren't chewy little black blobs that taste more like rubber bands than olive. Also, they don't have nearly the salt that conventional black olives do. (Likewise, they're not nearly as black. Not sure why.)Anyway, we like them. They're excellent on their own, marinated, added to Mexican or Mediterranean foods, and in tapenade. Yum!

My kids LOVE olives. They eat olives like candy. We have tried several brands and finally found Santa Barbara's Olives through Amazon Subscribe and Save. We used to always buy Pearl brand (which we always loved)--but these are far less salty than the Pearl's or other brands we have tried. Just a nice olive flavor.They aren't quite as dark black as other olives--so the first time we opened the can we were surprised (they are a lighter color--more of a brown than a black)--but they taste great. Plus with the subscribe and save option, these are cheaper than other brands (and I love that they are shipped directly to my door!).This is our new olive brand :)

I expected to find these olives to be super black and to taste just like the usual brands I buy at the grocery store. They're not. They are lighter in color and and much much better tasting. I keep olives as a staple in my pantry and that's why I got these, but they are so good that my husband and I have started using them as a snack or a side dish with meals. I'll have to update my subscribe and save to get more frequent shipment for sure. I highly recommend these. I'm very impressed with this company and will look for more of their brands to try.

These are pretty good olives - that being said I am enjoying them and its nice to see no additives - I thought they were organic though as that was what I was searching - but they are still ok. Not salty at all - the brine could use some flavor. ALSO dont expect them to be black - they are brown.

Best olives ever. My daughter and son (and me) can easily go through a can in one sitting. I love that they have their natural color (brown). The taste is exceptional. I purchased a similar type of olive at the grocery store and it was much more salty. These are not salty. And they taste so much better than the "black" olives. My dad offered some of those to us while we were visiting and I was surprised at the terrible taste. Guess we are spoiled on good olives now.

This pictured item is labeled as California Large Pitted Ripe Olives, which are delicious. What arrived was not the California Large Pitted Ripe Olives but rather, just plain Large Pitted Ripe Olives which are a fermented product to which I am allergic. To make matters worse, this expensive item is not returnable.Update:I spoke with the Santa Barbara Olive company and they have changed their olive recipe to make them low sodium. If you read their olive recipe on their website, they talk about skimming off any mold that grows on the surface of the olive brine. This information makes it clear that by reducing the sodium, mold can grow. These olives are not good for those with mold allergies. By the way, my cans also arrived dented.

Delicious, consistent quality.

The olives look a little strange because they are not black, but a medium brown. But, they have a great taste. I like my olives a little more firm so next time I'll probably go back to the black ones.
