WooOOoOOOO! I have not had a "stress-free" waffle in close to a decade, no kidding! I'd tried to buy this very waffle maker back then, and oddly enough kept getting shipped a crepe maker. So I gave up. Well, in all the years between, I've tried two top-of-the-line waffle makers: All-Clad and Breville. Neither model would let me extricate the waffle without a HUGE mess. Because those models are designed with a submerged waffle bed, I had to dig and pry and gouge and completely rip my waffle to shreds getting it up and out of the machine. The stress from years of totally unsuccessful waffle-making prompted me to DONATE my machines - both of them.Then, I shopped at Amazon and found - to my amazement - the same wonderful waffle maker I'd had years ago (and was trying to replace, but kept getting the crepe maker?). This time I got the genuine article, and have rediscovered my LOVE for waffles. First time, every time, the waffles lift effortlessly off the griddle. How is that possible? Because of the waffle maker's superior design: the waffle sits UP on top of the griddle, with the lid making the deep imprint for Belgian waffle. When you lift the lid, you have about half an inch of waffle to grab hold of and lift off the griddle. I now get 4 perfect squares of waffle each and every time I put batter in the machine. EVERY TIME. It takes about 5-6 min to get 4 squares baked, an audible beeper signals when the griddle is hot and when the waffle is done (per your preference).It may sound silly to say that making waffles cause stress, but seriously, hubs & I invented cuss words for the two previous models we'd owned. Now we can look forward to having waffles on a regular basis. Being vegan, there are many healthy, butter-free recipes to try. Healthy & delicious! I'm thrilled with this CucinaPro waffle maker.

The only thing I would have liked on this waffle iron is a timer or a buzzer or something to let you know it is done. Other than that, it is very easy to clean.
