One Brave Man: How Roger Clemens Risked Everything to Prove He did not Take Anabolic Steroids

Warning: Reading this may change your mind about Clemens PED use!
First, I will admit to 2 different biases I had prior to reading this book. The author was a boyhood friend that I recently reconnected with. We share a love of literature and sports (NY Yankees in particular). Our fathers both served in WWII in the Pacific, and Hansen writes about his father's service with a great deal of respect.I had an opinion formed by following the very one-sided coverage that Clemens must have used PEDs.I think Hansen makes a very strong case supporting Clemens denial. Brian McNamee's accusations were the foundation for the governments case and the trial exposed him as a liar. The government spent years and $millions trying to find other evidence and came up empty. It was a very weak case that never should have gone to trial.Clemens will never go in the Baseball Hall of Fame. The baseball writers mostly didn't like him during his career (he's not really a likable, warm, fuzzy kind of guy). Most of the writers jumped on the government bandwagon early and will not acknowledge they were wrong.I truly enjoyed the book.
