JUNK!!
This item didn't worked properly for long and quit functioning AFTER the return date expired. DO NOT PURCHASE!!Even the salesman @ Staples where I bought my next Bluetooth speaker said "they're junk, don't buy". Buy electronics in store NOT on Amazon!

Love this Speaker!
I had an earlier model of this speaker for many years - at least ten if not longer. This tough little speaker survived being swamped by saltwater and hundreds of showers. Due to my misuse - allowing the speaker to be drenched daily without drying it, the back rusted off.I bought this speaker in “used-like new” condition. It arrived packaged as if new and seems to be in perfect condition. I should not need another one as I placed this one in a location where it may catch a drop or two now and then. I dry it after using it. The back appears to be made of a different material as well.

Performed as Expected
I rated the speaker at 5 stars because it does the job for me.I listen to audio books or music on my iPhone 8 when I'm working in our garden, yard, or garage. The speaker on my phone is not very loud, and it uses up iPhone battery life in a few hours.If I add the Altec Lansing speaker as a blue tooth device and place the phone near the speaker, I have a speaker that is loud enough to hear over at least a 25 foot radius and I don't have to recharge the iPhone during the day.You will need to recharge the Altec Lansing speaker after a full day's use.

Nice little speaker.
I first heard this speaker used at a funeral. They played music off their phone in the chapel and I was amazed at how well the sound filled the large room. I asked what speaker they used and it turned out to be the Altec Lansing Jacket H2O 4 speaker. I ordered myself one as soon as I got home. I use it all the time, but bought it specifically to use with my small Tascam DP-006 6-track digital recorder, which has line out, but no speakers. It works great.
