As described but not very colorful at night
I did a lot of research here on Amazon reading through various reviews of different glass types for our new fire pit. It seemed that American Fireglass had the most consistently good reviews so we went that route. Also people who got ¼" glass sometimes said they were too small, so we ended up going ½". I also wanted the reflective mirror surface on one side to help bounce the light around.I read some fire glass just came loose in the shipping box and/or wasn't tumbled for safety as the description said. I think those people may have ordered from a vendor that may have swapped out authentic American Fireglass with some cheaper stuff. I can say that Amazon's fulfillment here for this item was the real deal. American Fireglass in a sealed thick bag, inside of a box, which in turn was inside the shipping box. And the pieces were tumbled pretty smooth. I spread out 50lbs of fire glass into our pit with my bare hands and was not cut at all. That said, probably safest to use gloves. Found 90% of the pieces were in the proper ½" size range specified. There were a few smaller pieces and a few larger pieces but most of it was the correct size.Looked great in the pan during the daylight. When night came and I fired up the fire pit (propane powered), it was good but not great. By that I mean that despite the mirrored surface (which is supposed to bounce light around more) there wasn't much color to be seen. The great cobalt blue (which looks just like the pictures suggest) just isn't as prominent at night as I had hoped. Maybe it is the color. Maybe a lighter color would have helped. Not sure but that's the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Still, got a good price and it works as specified. No discoloration, no pops or anything like some of the things other have reported for some of the lower-quality fire glass. I expect this to last many, many years problem free.

Glass leaves soot marks.
When I first got the product I was a little suspicious, because it looked like nothing more than broken vanity mirrors slightly tumbled to remove the rough edges. There is even a few larger pieces still stuck together (similar to how a car windshield shatters). But having faith I loaded it into my fire pit. And before lighting, it looked really nice. Then I lit ‘er up. Within 30 seconds of using the fire pit I noticed the soot marks developing along each of the burners. (Yes, I’m using propane tanks with an air mixer, so I shouldn’t have that problem.) Have a look at the before and after pictures attached. This is after only 30 seconds of use. Maybe a darker color isn’t as noticeable, but I was hoping the clear would last longer than 30 seconds.

Nice looking but 10 lbs is a small volume
This looks just like it's advertised (the copper coloration). This review is mostly preliminary because I haven't had a chance to run the propane firepit with it yet and determine how well it holds up over time. One complaint about this product I would make is that it's sold by weight with no indication of volume. A 10 lb box of 1/2" sounds like a lot, but it's really about enough volume to fit a medium sized shoe box.My Rhino/BlueFlame fire table came with lava rocks and three ceramic "logs" which sat on top of a metal "grilling" grate. I took off the logs and the grate. I left the lava rocks in as a base (I already own them and they take up a lot of volume). I managed to mostly cover the rocks with a single 10 lb bag but it really isn't enough -- you can still see some lava rocks and the burner in the center is completely exposed. I'm going to order another 10 lb bag which I think will be enough for cosmetics, but I think on this fire table to fill the entire volume of the fire bowl to the lip would probably take 4-6 bags.

Looks great, you just need a lot!
Purchased 3 10 pound bags and they were 10 pounds ($52.67 each with free Prime Shipping = $158). Glass looks great. The only problem is you need a lot of it (as you would with all glass). I have a 24 inch fire pit ring (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LADCZLS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and the three bags just filled the inside of the ring. I bought 3 more bags of this (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LTTQYE2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) as the total order (with $20 shipping) was $19.99 each bag ($80.20 with shipping for all 3 bags) so that is easily $78 cheaper. I will post a video of each when they arrive.

Loses its color after two hrs
Product came in a plastic bag with a lot of glass chards and smaller pieces. Biggest issue is the glass is losing its color after 2 hrs. 3/4 of my glass nearest the heat is almost clear. I Do not recommend. I returned it. Thank you Amazon

Great Look - I purchased the glass stones as a change from a traditional lava rock open fireplace in our kitchen. I purchased the 1/2 inch size as I thought the 1/4 inch might be to small. It was a good choice. The 1/2 inch have a beautiful shine. Sometimes I walk by the fireplace and I think it is on. Our fireplace pan is about 20 X 24 and the stone size is perfect. I used 10 pounds of stone per 2 square feet and I just had enough. I may do one more 5 pound bag. Highly Recommend

Love it!
I put this under my gas "log" set and they add a nice shimmer to the bottom of the fireplace. I take the logs out in the summer to get a cooler fire with just the flames coming through the glass. Looks great and the price was lower than my local store. I purchased 2 boxes to cover the entire base of the fireplace, over the gas lighter and sand.

It’s small bag
It’s nice but the amount for fireplace is not much. One should consider measuring and figure out how many bags is needed to cover the whole fireplace
