Can I use them while wearing contact lenses?

Per my ophthalmologist he recommends them off label for use with contacts. They do not contain the preservative that would necessitate contact removal to use product to prevent eye damage. I have used them with extended wear contacts for 10+ yrs. Have never had an issue.

How does this "balance" formula compare to Systane Ultra in terms of dry eye relief ?

Ultra formula doesn't give same protective layer. I have moderate to sometimes severe dry eye. Balance formula even works to help my natural tears. May blur for few seconds. No burn.

does this product resemble natural tears

This product is a lubricant for dry eyes. I am not sure what you mean by 'natural tears'. Your eyes don't keep watering after using this product, it just lubricates it to relieve the dryness.
