Make sure you reinstall the filesystem if using a MAC. Makes a great media device.
Seagate had installed an old MS NTFS file system which certainly didn't seem to run very fast and my MacPro had problems using it. I had to erase the disk and install a journaled OSX file system and everything is now fast and working perfectly.

So far, good value for money
Second of these I've purchased. Avoided 4&5 TB as they seem to have most complaints. Works well, no speed issues. Only difficulty is nearly-new, but under-powered HP desk-top won't load with more than one external drive connected at a time, difficulty with even 3TB & 2 flash drives. Ludicrous 350 watt power supply (not stated anywhere in specs) when $10-20 more (retail) might have meant 500 or 600w.

I've had no problems with it and like it.
Came up with 2.7 TB of data storage, works very well and fairly fast with USB 3.0 (have another external with USB 2.0 which can be painfully slow with larger data transfers). It seems very quiet and was plug and play into Windows 10. I've had no problems with it and like it.

Seagate hard drive
The only thing I didn't agree with is that it was not Xbox ready. I had to pick between music and movies, or games and save files. I chose games cuz I have my music on my PC but I wanted it all on the same hard drive. Small misfortune, but the hard drive is excellent and it is more than enough space for me. I love it.
