They are pretty thick. I needed pliers to cut through them. So I think it might work for you.

I am not sure but they are pretty sturdy. I think it would depend on how they were placed and the weight distribution. I have been really happy with them.

Q: What is the metal covered with?

Some sort of flexible plastic--probably polypropylene. I haven't done a chemical analysis, but I can confirm that the plastic coating bends with the internal wire and prevents the latter from corroding in wet soil. Hope this helps.
