Purchased for Summer Electric Bike Commute...
I currently have wireless earbuds I've used for several years which work well, but are starting to show there age a bit. I plan to still use them in the winter, as they slip into the ear well enough to comfortably have a headband around my ears for warmth and also for help with wind noise.I purchased these Back Bay's because during the summer, I'd rather do without the headband if at all possible (although I do have a summer version), but didn't want to risk having my old earbuds fall out while I'm zipping around at 20 mph. The Back Bay's had a nice wrap around function that didn't appear to pose a discomfort level associated with wearing some sort of ear covering over them, so I gave them a shot.First off, they are a nice, solid set of ear phones. The case is about the size of credit card (see pics), with a height similar to a PC mouse. It's a nice size case and charging is a breeze... although I will say that unlike most of my other USB rechargeable items, this case has a different connector and is not compatible with the other cords I have... so there's that.At first it was a little weird not having any actual buttons to depress like my old set of ear buds, but now I'm quite used to it and like the "tap" functionality of all the various settings and options. The sound is hard to complain about, seriously... they are quite nice. I listen to podcasts mostly, so the few times I've had music on and utilized the Bass Mode was quite the treat. I'm sure there will be many music lovers out there who will explore and enjoy this function more than I have at this point. As I mentioned earlier, I purchased these for my daily one-hour electric bike commute to work (1/2 hour each way) during the summer. I especially require as good as noise cancellation as I can get, because the wind can be quite the deterrent from a otherwise pleasant experience when your on a bike, in the city, with all the wind and traffic noise. On a scale of 1-10 on my bike, I would say they are about a 7... whereas my old ones are more like a 8-9. I think that's because my older buds can get down more solidly into the ear (not sure that's actually better for you or not in the long term) than these, due to the ear wrap prohibiting that identical sort of insertion depth. If I wasn't on an electric bike terrorizing the public at 20 mph, and say, just jogging or something... this wouldn't be an issue in the least. That being said, with being exposed like I am, you're never going to get to 100% noise cancellation, nor should you for any number of safety considerations. But I will say this... even at a 7 rating, I find myself not noticing the wind distortion as I meander my way into work, and enjoy my daily podcast murder addiction immensely... so for me that is a definite win!Bottom Line, here are my grades and recommendations:1. Sound - Excellent2. Selection of different sized ear pieces (you'll need to experiment to find your favorite) - Excellent3. Comfort - Very Good (I wish the wrap arounds were of a slightly softer material, but that's a minor gripe).4. Functions/Controls - Easy to Understand and Learn5. Connectivity - No Issues6. Battery Life - I use for 1 hour every day, it's been a non-issue.7. USB Charge - Easy, but the connector is not similar/interchangeable to many other USB devices. One last tip: I found the easiest way to put these on is to rotate them clockwise around your ear, almost like your screwing them in. Start the tip of the ear hook just above your ear and rotate clockwise towards the rear, and then down. Works great for me! :)

The Hook
These are some of the best sounding, most comfortable wireless bluetooth ear pieces that I have found, especially for this price. I had Jabra, but the volume couldn't be turned up (traffic noise tended to drown out audio). Had LG, but the around-the-neck fit was awkward and uncomfortable. Had Beats with a "tether," but they were a bother (and they cost more than they are worth). Read about Back Bay when I researched best buds for small ears/higher volume. Reminded me of the early days of consumer audio; a start-up with a better idea about sound quality. I started out with Back Bay Tempo 30 ear buds. The sound was excellent, with bold volume and clarity. Surprisingly deep bass response for bean-sized ear buds! But those ear buds turned out to be the wrong fit for me. Without an ear hook, the bean-sized buds kept popping out of my elfin hobbit ears. Innovative touch-and-tap function controls on the surface of the bud would get in the way of simply adjusting the buds in my ears for better fit and seal. I'd end up randomly hanging up on calls and starting up podcasts. So I switched to Runner 60, thinking I'd get the same excellent fit-and-finish and the same stellar sound quality as the buds, but with a secure ear hook. And I did! The addition of the ear hook means that I never feel like I have worry about the ear piece popping out of my ear. The fit is perfect; plenty of rubber tips are included to find the best fit for your particular ears. Because the fit is taken care of, I'm much less inclined to fiddle with the ear piece and inadvertently touch a random "tap" function button. The hook is slightly flexible, so it doesn't dig into your ear. (Because the hook is sort of thick, I imagine it might get in the way of glasses resting on your ear.) The audio is rich and clear, with big bass response. These ear pieces take full advantage of the volume capabilities of my android phone, and even in loud environments I can hear the audio loud and clear in my ear. I'm glad I took a chance on Back Bay, and I'd recommend their products to anyone. Really good sound, comfortable fit, quality build, and excellent customer service, too!

Quality that I Expected
I've been using the Back Bay Runner 60 headphones for a week or two, and I've been satisfied with their performance. They connect quickly and accurately to my devices via bluetooth, and the sound quality is good. The touch controls on the earbuds are a bit unreliable (or perhaps difficult for me to get accustomed to), but those are of secondary importance to me. I haven't tested their waterproofing, but it's nice to know that their rated to industrial standards.Would probably recommend them to friends.
