These rollers all do the same thing, Wear out at the bearing end and the plastic starts melting. This happens every year EVERY YEAR. You can clean the ends after every use and it still will need to be replaced EVERY year. Unwilling to buy another vacuum cleaner and inherit new problems so ill just complain here.

So our family sheds a lot of hair. Spouse has long hair, dogs and cats contribute as well. We tend to go thru roll assemblies fairly frequently, so I've sought after replacement parts for our trusty Dirt Devil. This roller fits perfectly, holds up pretty well, and the price is less than buying the same part in town-when you can find them at all. Good stuff!

I will buy another one now because it's still cheaper than buying a new vacuum.

My 13-year-old Dirt Devil Breeze vacuum had developed a habit of burning belts, which was baffling to me, until I read a helpful buyer's review. I found out that the bristles harden with age, and that was the culprit. Sort of. I noticed this new brush has much more supple bristles than the original roller, however I was still burning belts, though not as badly as before. After significant head-scratching, I added 1/8" spacer washers to the screws holding the bottom plate to the chassis, in between the two, which recessed the bristles so that they are barely protruding below the plate. Problem solved, although I'm still baffled that was necessary. This new brush looks to have the exact dimensions of the original.

Seems to be an almost exact duplicate and is thus far working great. Has really given my older vacuum a new lease on life. With the brush roller and its powerful motor I'm able to vacuum up a great deal more out of the carpet especially dog hair. The only thing I'm bummed on was I'd hoped to get one of the older style wooden ones but I suppose the plastic one works just fine so far too. This roller really moves too with the proper belt and does a good job getting a lot out of the carpet faster than my other units.On another note though, I'd like to see this roller more competitively priced especially given that you can get a new vacuum for $30 these days. I'm still glad I finally bought this roller, as I still think many of the older vacuums are better quality than the newer ones, I just hope I'll get as many years out of this one as the old one.

It fit's it works but the bristles aren't very firm. They are like a babies hair brush soft. It does it's job but it won't last that long! Oh well it's fine for now.

Works perfectly. Unfortunately, I have to keep replacing these every few years because something gets caught up in the brush, and ends up burning the bearings. I don't think that is the fault of this brush, as I also have the belt burned out also.

Fits my vacuum well overall and spins smoothly. The gaps in the brush don't line up with the plastic cover on my model (085845), but this doesn't seem to matter too much.

Arrived on time and was exactly what I required.
