Macaroons - Traditional Almond

I've been buying them for years. Absolutely perfect. And our grandchildren's favorite.

These were delicious. Just like the ones from the boardwalk in Atlantic city that I remember from my childhood. But, they are so expensive for such a small box. Prohibitively expensive to buy on more than rare occasionally.

Forget those various colored “macaroons” you can buy at the big box stores or grocery stores. These are the REAL THING! Slightly chewy, deliciously “almondly” and taste just like those we used to get in our neighborhood bakery sixty years ago! I took one bite and was transported back to childhood! Thanks!

There's much to be said for an almond macaroon which is made correctly. Only almond flour used. Most these days are made with coconut and that destroys the traditional texture. They're a little more crumbly and less chewy than I would like, but I'm assuming that's because of having to be refrigerated. Nothing to do about that. They're delicious and bring back fond memories of my youth, when cookies were made right!

Oh so, so, delicious. Never tasted a more delectable almond macaroon; however Henri's Bakery in Atlanta has always been my favorite, an "A+". Since I can't always get to Atlanta these cookies are a very close "A"... and they're declined to my front door.I must order 2 boxes at a time now since 1 box doesn't last long.Sooo wonderful!!

They were exactly like I remembered as a kid.

The cookies were STALE. They were so dry, they crumbled in your hand, when removed from the container.Nothing like the "Moist, Soft Cookies" that was advertised.

These bring back those memories-the real macaroon - soft chewy - DELICIOUS!!
