Too weak to cut into a rough sourdough
I really have to be careful when cutting with this knife. I have to apply a pressure with movement so it could actually cut the sourdough crust and one time it slipped and i cut myself.Might work for a smooth mushy bruger bun

Great except they don't fit under cabinet
I bought these knives for my octogenarian parents who have had the same knives since I was a kid. They love these, and I've received lots of brownie points for buying them. I agree they are really nice. Good weight. Good feel, despite not being "grippy". My one complaint - that will prevent me from buying another set for myself - is that the butcher block has the knives sticking straight up instead of at an angle. As a result, you can't put this set on the kitchen counter, under a wall cabinet because there isn't sufficient room to lift the knives out of the butcher block without hitting the cabinet above. You have to tilt the entire butcher block to get a knife out. IMO this is a fatal design flaw for anyone who doesn't have a snazzy large island in their kitchen where you can put the knives with no overhead obstruction. If you have an island where you put your knives, these are great.

I hate dull knives
I am really picky about kitchen knives. I hate dull knives. Dull knives are annoying and useless. This is a great bread knife for the price. Super sharp right out of the box, nice handle, nice balance, well made, good quality forged steel (not stamped), I paid $14 for it and it is probably one of the best deals I have gotten in kitchen cutlery.

Not a great knife. The serrations are too far apart to do a good job slicing bread. Cheap, but look elsewhere.
