Like Corelle at a fraction of the price. Appreciated that I didn’t have to buy more than what I needed - was looking for a neutral set of dishes that didn’t include MUGS!! Oh my goodness!! What is it with all the mugs?! I, like most people, have a huge collection of mugs already - even sets of mugs - but really hard to find a basic set of non-toxic, non-plastic, NICE dishes for everyday and company that didn’t cost an arm and a leg - and it’s for six - not four, like so many of the sets out there. Very happy. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if they were square - what I was really looking for - but the trade-off was worth it - and I really, really looked around before deciding on these. I’m satisfied that at least for my budget, I won’t find this set in the square shape.

This set is wonderful and meeting the needs of our growing family. We opted for Danmers because they're lightweight and supposed to be non breakable. My 3yr old tested them by throwing them on our hardwood floor when I told him they weren't breakable. Im happy to say the first two throws were a success. The third throw (with hearty vigor) crashed and shattered. This was only because he threw it as hard as he could on a wood floor. It did survive the first 2 throws. They deserve 5 stars for that. If you're anticipating lots of dropping with small kids, these will pass the test. If you have a destructive one like mine, maybe not. Proud to say there have been no more broken dishes since the throwing incident! I would definitely recommend these dishes to everyone. They are a nice shiny white and very easy to clean and stack nicely on top of our microwave. Lets face it...with 3 kids under 3, the microwave gets used alot and these pass the test! Thankful I found them!

I got this set to be a “filler” to an expensive corelle Portuguese pattern I LOVE so the gloss white gives me enough plates bowls and small plates without the whopping price tag of a second Name brand patterned set. And what doesn’t a glossy white go with?I would recommend that to others too because this opal set is basically a clone to corelle. The plates are slightly larger than corelle by just a slight tad but very lightweight and shaped just like them. So you could easily pick a great corelle pattern ( I found some really amazing ones on Amazon) and then replace a second set with this coordinated set in white. It gives you a nice contrast to have a pattern plate with a opal white glossy appetizer plate and a patterned bowl on top…. Aesthetics on a budget!I got a set for my Mom and she loved them too and we BOTH agreed the bowls in this set are smaller but shaped BETTER than corelle. We both love our sets and we both purchased “open box” option with no issues and no broken pieces… saved $15.The high gloss of these dishes is yummy and make a very chic backdrop to your beautiful meal creations! In some ways I like this set more than corelle but I only just got these but will update with progressive wear observations.If you’re on the fence…. Go for it you won’t regret having this set on hand!Update: I have had these around for a while and have gotten some good use out of them and they’re still like new. No breaks, scratches (even from steak knives) or chips. Great in dishwasher no issues! We love them! I can say with confidence now… Definitely Buy them!

I bought these because we were destroying our bone China that we were using for everyday needs. My hope was that these would be a nice substitute so we could extend the life of our China and I got what I was hoping for. These are nice basic plates that are durable and light. I’m not a fan of thick chunky plates so these are perfect for me because they are delicate looking yet durable. They are bright white and don’t look much different than our China.

I've bought several of this set. Overall it does pretty good, but the dishes certainly are not shatter proof. Plates and bowls have been broken by being knocked off the shelf, dropped on the floor, dropped in the sink, and even dropped on carpet. When they break they really shatter leaving a lot of small pieces that require a broom and a mop to collect entirely. We even had one weird case where a bowl shattered while it was being washed in the dish washer. They can also chip, though that hasn't happened frequently.Despite all that, I still quite like these dishes because they are reasonably durable. Of the 18 plates I've bought, it took my family (which includes young kids) 3 years to break 5 of them. I prefer this material to plastic for beauty and maturity.
