HUO JI E-Element 104 PBT Double Shot Injection Backlit Golden Metal Color Keycaps for all Mechanical Keyboards with Key Puller

The Royal Kludge Keyboard (RK918) is undoubtedly one of the most striking RGB keyboards I've ever laid eyes on. I first spotted it in a product demo video on a social media platform and was instantly smitten. Thankfully, the video creator included the product description, making it easy for me to snag one for myself. Although I experimented with other, pricier brands, the Royal Kludge Keyboard with its brown switches provided just the right balance of tactile feedback and noise for my tastes.I must admit that the attached photos show a significant change from the stock keyboard to something, dare I say, better? Golden keycaps! The combination of gold and RGB creates a stunning visual effect. While Linus might have claimed it was the ugliest keyboard he'd ever seen, I beg to differ. It's a love-it-or-hate-it situation, and I'm definitely on the "love it" side. Golden keycaps add a unique flair that sets them apart from other keycaps out there. These golden keycaps truly contribute to the "royal" aesthetics.Swapping out the white stock keycaps for gold ones was a once-in-a-decade kind of project for me, as in I hope I only have to do it once every decade! The end result worked out beautifully. I even added some resin jeweled keycaps for extra uniqueness with the gold. This keyboard has certainly become one of the most exceptional keyboards I've ever owned, and it's a joy to have. The vibrant RGB aesthetic and bright illumination make it stand out as a work of art. The golden luster of the keycaps makes it incredibly unique. The jeweled keycaps only help further embellish this over-the-top nature of the keyboard.Admittedly, the resin jeweled keycap button shortcuts can be confusing, but it's one of those things where once you learn what each jewel does, it becomes easy to understand. I don't use this embellished keyboard daily; rather, I save it for gaming sessions and special occasions when I need a full-sized keyboard option. I just love the way it turned out. The golden keycaps with the RGB and resin jewels... I mean, come on. Does it get any more over-the-top than that? Owning this keyboard is genuinely thrilling.My complaints about these keycaps are minimal. While the keycaps were able to cover a majority of the keys in gold, I was lacking in four keys for the volume controls on a "standard keyboard." I also replaced the escape key with a red resin jewel because I had five resin jewels and wanted to use them all. I found the supplied red keycap puller to be inadequate for getting the keycaps off the keyboard. Fortunately, Royal Kludge supplied a thin, long wire clamp that allowed me to gently go under the keys and pull the keycaps off without destroying the keyboard. When I tried to use the keycap puller (the one provided) I found it to be to difficult and bulky to use efficently. I appreciated that the clamshell product packaging allowed me to pull the stock keycaps off the keyboard and have a place to put them when swapping them out with the golden keycaps. After "installing" this product on the Royal Kludge Keyboard, I was quite pleased with the end result. It was a lot of work, but it's one of those projects where I'm not likely to have to do it again anytime soon. The product worked as designed and I am super pleased.I would recommend these keycaps, as they are beautiful and certainly offer that "over the top" look and feel. I'm sure I'll need to wipe the keyboard down from time to time to keep finger print and oil from my fingers from ruining the golden finish of the keycaps. That just goes with the territory of having nice things. The price is more than fair for a niche product like this. I'd almost pick up another set of golden keycaps, but I'm not sure if I'll ever go down this road again with a keyboard with golden keycaps. I kind of just like the uniqueness of this keyboard being what it is. I'm sure I'll get many years of ownership from this keyboard before I ever decide to replace it. The golden keycaps seem well built and will certainly be put to the test over the years of ownership.

First of all, these keys are gaudy as heck, and I'm sure the light will shine right through the keys. PC gamers will probably love them for that alone. But the looks weren't why I bought them. They are completely smooth to the touch, and very, VERY light, which makes typing on them a joy. It's nearly impossible to find textureless keys for cherry MX keyboards, but these fit the bill, and they feel outstanding to type on. Definitely the best typing experience I've ever had on cherry MX blue switches. Probably not for everyone, but for anyone who remembers using Selectric typewriters, or 80's era computers will almost certainly love these things.

They look nice. although the gold paint comes off easy and the keys fall off when I put it in my backpack. Wish there were better quality ones, I wouldn't even mind paying more

Not a keyboard, just key caps to "bling out" your existing keyboard.I purchased the following keyboard and these key caps fit perfectly. The keyboard (not this item, which is only key caps) comes with a red plastic tool that you can use to pop out the key caps: Redragon K551 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard RGB LED Rainbow Backlit Wired Keyboard with Red Switches for Windows Gaming PC (104 Keys, Black)Even the font on the key caps matches the keyboard I bought separately, and the backlighting shines through the font.The only down side: the set of key caps is missing about 1/4 of the keys (see attached picture).I would give it all five stars if it had arrived containing all the key caps advertised in the product listing. It was a surprise prank gift for a coworker, which is why I made do with what we got.
